Draft @ Stanton Public, NYC. Poured in a pint glass, this beer has a dark, cloudy dark brown body with thick, off-white lacing that lasts throughout the entire pint. This is a perfectly smooth, milky stout that provides mostly roasted hop, malt and oat flavor with hints of vanilla and brown sugar. Very flavor, but not too heavy; this is one of the better beers I’ve had in a while.

Tap. Pours dark brown with average, creamy beige head; good retention and some lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, figs, milk chocolate, light coffee, and faint earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominate with faint fruit esters and hops; thin mouthfeel with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.

On tap at Sugar Maple. Pours a very dark brown with a thick dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice roasted malt note with some light coffee and a hint milk chocolate. Flavor begins with roasted malts that lasts throughout the beer with a backing creamy coffee.

Cask at Sweet Afton. Pours a muddy dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma has mild lactose sweetness with some tootsie roll candy. Flavor has some fruit sourness with tootsie roll. Minimal coffee presence. Thin mouthfeel.

On tap at Rattle N Hum, poured into an imperial pint glass. Deep dark almost black hue with purple on the edges capped by a creamy off white head with excellent retention. Nose is light with hint of roastiness. Taste is full of roast malt, light flower balances nicely. Mouth is light and creamy. Yeah!

Tap, Tap room 307, Gramercy, NYC, 17/12/11. Huge foaming tan on black. US citrus, Neopolitan aroma. Deep and smooth with earthy ,blackened husk and citrus flavours. An undercurrent of burnt milk and lemon. Decent.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Dark pour, floofy head, lacing all up and down the glass. Lots of oat the nose and flavor. Just a mild bitterness from roast, subtle hints of coffee. Smooth on the tongue from the nitro pour. Enjoyable.

16oz pour Maxs taphouse. Black, no head, nice lacing for a stout. Aroma is soft vanilla, coffee, roasted malt. Flavor is the same. Mouthfeel is fairly thin, moderately low carbonation, perfectly sessionable. Really nice OS.

Tap. Pours black with brown highlights, a medium-large creamy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is leather, dark coffee and chocolate malt, spicy and earthy hops with dark fruit notes. Flavor is dark fruit, lightly sour and bitter dark malt, bitter hops, leather yeast and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.
