Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is sour cherries and a bit of wood. Taste is malt sweetness at first, with a sour cherry and wood finish that is just heavenly. The Pinot Noir barrels add a smooth grape characteristic and a slippery wine characteristic that makes the beer an incredible, incredible experience. I love this beer in ways too numerous to account here - great great achievement by Russian River.

Draft from a batch 2 keg at Monks during pliny the younger day 2010. This was my favorite glass of supplication to date. Pours a hazy red amber color with medium white head and lacing. Aromas of dark cherries, dates, brett, biscuit, red wine. Taste was a sour and funked out cherry dominant flavor with notes of wood, coconut marshmallow, pinot, coriander, pine, and lactic acids. One of my favorite sour ales. Amazing.

Ar: Cherries and a bit of vinegar - some hay and barnyard funk. Ap: Cloudy orange - small off-white head with moderate retention and some lacing. T: Plum, lemon, lots of fruit, all very sour - lots of dark caramel and cherry mid-palate with very low bitterness - lots of lemon and cherry on the finish. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Tasty and very fruity sour - nice funky complexity with some very prominent sour tones.

Pours a beautiful red orange with no head but some lacing is left. Aroma is of cider, vinegar and cherries. Taste follows the nose, tart in the best way possible. Leaves cherries in the finish. Mouthfeel is very carbonated and dry but not too dry. This is an excellent wild ale!

Sour, sour and still sour. You must like sour o and cherry. This is a very cool and unique beer that would go great with beef and salty foods.

12.68 oz corked and caged bottle. Aroma is sour funk, woody, wet river rock--overall, not as aromatic as other sours I’ve been drinking lately. Pours hazy orange with a medium beige head that collapses into a blanket of foam. The taste more than makes up for the somewhat lackluster aroma. It’s very tart and acidic, making my mouth pucker like I prefer sour ales to be. Has a flavor of fresh chopped wood along with the sourness. Mouthfeel is creamy, but the body could be a bit fuller; leaves the mouth dry. Nice beer.

Pours hazy gold with some redish hues to it. Small white head. Nose is light cherry, vinegar, grapes, grass and wood. Taste is sweet up front but a big sour tidal wave takes over and finishes as such. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Big aftertaste and light body. Solid.

Sampled at WTWBA 2012, Brooklyn. The aroma is sour fruit, cherry. The appearance is hazy light brown/red, light tan head. The flavor is the same as the aroma, sour cherry. The finish is tart cherry. Quite good. Nice representation of the style.
