COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry lambic was once a rarity and only produced for a few weeks during the summer. Frank Boon was the first brewer to again prepare a raspberry lambic in the summer of 1976. More than 300 grams per liter of fresh raspberries give Framboise Boon a fresh fruity taste. The young lambic supports the flavor. But this is very much about raspberries, not the lambic. Of course we do not use artificial flavorings, only real raspberries. Boon Framboise has an alcohol volume of 5%. Drink it when it is young.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2011 My first fruit lambic!! Bottle, 37.5 cl. Deep red color, with a small pink head. The immediate aroma is fresh raspberries wrapped in sweet caramel-ish aromas. Sweet lambic jesus this smells good! In my mouth the body is medium to full, I’d say. Flavor is very much like the aroma, with wonderful fresh raspberries with delightful notes of caramel, slightly sour, but with sweet edges. Quickly, as I swallow, the expected sourness really comes through, refreshing and very very very pleasant! The sourness continues into the finish, leaving my mouth full of raspberry flavors, tartness and sour goodness! Wow. There are other flavors here besides the raspberry, but I’m not sure what they are, since I’m relatively new to the world of sour ales, but the raspberry flavors definitely dominate. The stuff in the background makes me think of a barnyard and such, but it’s very faint. Also, hints of lemon.

Overall: I think this is just spectacular! And it’s probably not even the best fruit/raspberry lambic out there! Wow!

2013 vintage bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a dark berry color with sparse carbonation bubbles and almost no head. Big raspberry aromas with cherry and light blackberry notes. Kind of dry on the palate, lots of berry notes. Not sweet but not bone-dry. Carbonation is fading, but still tasty. some light mint on the finish. Good fruitiness.

Bottiglia 2013, colore rosso rubino con una schiuma rosa poco persistente, ovviamente nell’aroma la fanno da padrone i lamponi, al palato è molto bilanciata con un finale dolce e fruttato. Ottima.
