La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. This ale owes its crisp and spicy character to the use of coriander and other spices and herbs, as well as to post-fermentation in the bottle. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander. 17.5°

One of the best beers in the world! a lovely orange color with a white billowy off white head. The aroma orange, light spice from belgian yeast and hints of vanilla and banana. The flavor is what belgian triples should be. medium body with light spice slightly sweet, hints of alcohol and a finish that is clean sweet and peppery. Nearly Perfect!

Bottle 33cl. Dark golden with a small white head. Aroma of banana, sweet malt and trappist yeast. Rich taste, sweet but has a slight bitter finish, not strong though.

Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a clear orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, fruit, pear, banana, peaches, some peppery spice, honey with light floral notes. Decent, lighter bodied.

Smell is very pleasant and strong-lile. Pours foggy blond with almost no jead. Taste is very mild, with low carbomatioin but with a feel of big alcohol content at the end. A sour aftertaste stays with wgile you drink.

33cl bottle bb05-2016 from source. Again, as in their blonde, banana weighs in heavy in both aroma and taste, something I associate with Weizenbocks this heavy and donot really appreciate in a tripel wih potential of more yeast ester complexity. Some overly clean alcohol in the nose and a boring mouthfeel again make this a boringly textbook rendition. Even some refined white sugar in the taste...too sweet without adding any complexity. Dry banana peel finish, dominant hop spice. Not in the same league in terms of artistic depth as many other trappists.

Bottle 33cl. Lovely dark yellow beer with nice white top. Lots of CO2. Sweet aroma reminds me of bananas. Taste is somewhat complex but still easily drinkable, aftertaste is sweet.

Dunne schuimkraag die snel weg trekt, visueel niet aantrekkelijk, troebel. Kruidig fris aroma. Compacte bittere smaak, die bruisend is. Bitterzoete afdronk. Licht van smaak voor een tripel, drinkt zich fijn.

33 cl bottled @ home. Aroma is malty, tiny sour, tiny hoppy, some spiciness. Pours hazy amber, with frothy white head. Disappears into a small thick head. Taste is light sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, soapy texture, lively carbonation. Finish is long dry tiny bitter.
