Bottle 750ml from the Local Taphouse shop. Full marks, I loved it. Aromas of caramel, grain, apple, and vinager. Taste is sweet, with subtle sourness, and light bitterness. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

Bottle. Pours a translucent dark brown with small beige head, Aromas of vinegar, green apples and just a little roasted malt. Good stuff. Flavours are dominated by vinegar sourness. Slight bitterness from the roasted malt and a little liquorice. Salty sour finish, Medium mouthfeel. Not as complex as the golden but a really nice beer all the same.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jade (311) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2011
Beautiful sweet aroma, apple obviously, but also blackcurrant. Very dark plum colour. Held up to the light shows off red. Cloying sweet fruit flavour, tastes almost of over ripe apples. Very sweet as you would expect. Warming, tart and fantastic.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mjollnir (335) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - FEB 4, 2011
750mL bottle. Pours deep clear brown with a small tan head. Strongly acidic, almost wild aroma with apples and a little roast. More or less the same flavour, very strongly acidic, a little woody and with a little savoury character. Medium bodied, average carbonation with a tart finish.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thewolf (8637) - Kolding, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2011
Bottle @ Oz’n’NZ tasting 2011. [thanks bluebetty]
Pours deep chestnug, small creamy, off-white film head. Lovely aroma with tartness, green apples, oak, lightly roasted malts, liqourice and wood. Medium carbonation, light and fresh mouthfeel. Flavour is really super-fresh, tart, vinegar, lots of apple character, lightly vinious. Some roasted malts and liqourice mix up well. Sourish, sharp, oaky finish. Super fresh and delicious. Yum!

A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s Cook Fest tasting, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Kook himeslf. This is totally bloody outstanding. Like an amazing Flemish sour mixed with some utterly incredible apples and an epic tarty finish. The best of cider with the best of sour beer. I’ve tried similar blends myself and I know it works well. Brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANNNNNT!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1437) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 13, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2011 Dark brown. Big light tan head that fades to a centimetre. Aroma has roasted malts just discernible behind intense, moderately acidic apples. Some spices - ginger and cloves - and soy sauce. Very smooth mouthfeel. Body is medium to full and just short of syrupy thanks to remaining C02. Noticeable alcohol. Sweet with soy sauce . Fruity acidity on the finish. A round sourness creeps up as you keep drinking. About 2/3rds down the glass I ate some Stilton with it worked very well. This cidery beer or beery cider is different from anything I’ve tasted before, but it works and is clearly very well made.[3.4]
Bottle, 13C. Close to black. Fizzy tan head quickly fades to a coat. Aroma is first mellow apples and dark berries, then a touch of roasted malt, then barnyard. Creamy/ lactic mouthfeel stuggles against syrupiness. Sweet and mellow apples, some spices with modest and rather plain roasted malt at first and then feral tartness creeps up to balance. Like a mixture of scrumpy, porter and lambic. The roast is a bit nothing and sweetness is slightly over the top, but it’s still good-weird.

Bottle at chris_o’s "smash Kook’s granmny tasting". Alround rating: Tart, bretty, acidic, big sweet body with good rich ice cider like notes, but its all balanced and amazing and amazing and super complex. Totally unexpected one of the best beers iv had in a long long time!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nate2g (1548) - Marlborough, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 14, 2009
Bottle. Pours cola brown with reddish hues and a small light brown head. Aroma and flavour of sour apples and acidic notes. It really lacks the balance of the Golden and the acidity is too noticeable and takes away from the beer. Sour finish.
