3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rrauth (12) - - FEB 2, 2012
Nice citrus aroma. Two finger head. Slight haze. Very bitter finish, worthy of the imperial name. Might be a little to bitter for me. Still better than a weak IPA.

(Bottle) Pours light hazy orange golden with a small creamy head. The aroma is medium to heavily “green” hoppy with tones of tulip, grapefruit, lychee, white flowers, spicy pine, new cut grass, apricot and black currant. Toasted malt profile of white bread/new backed baguette. Touch of fresh dough. The flavour is light sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Heavily hoppy and medium malty with notes of white flowers, pine, black currant, ink and some tropical fruits. Fresh and toasted malt profile. Citric and resinous bitter finish. The mouthfeel is clean, soft and fairly smooth. Medium bodied.

22oz - Powerful hop flavors, strength in the malt, a strong representation of the style. Slightest bit of a raw edge held it back for me.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 bluebetty (819) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours a deep amber colour with rocky cream coloured head. Initially aromas of tropical fruit with lots of citrus and a touch of pineapple showing through. As the beer sits a little this drops away leaving rich medium caramel & malt sweetness. Flavours are initially quite sweet with lots of the same caramel apparent. Bitter finish with lots of hop resins. Full mouthfeel. Good beer.

It poured a hazy orange color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus and grassy hops with hints of yeast. The flavor was of bitter grassy hops, a very decent IPA.

Awesome! This one is a hop monster as the name implys. Pine and citrus aroma is front and center due to generous dry hopping. I drank it straight from the 22 oz bottle so not sure on the appearance. Taste was mild sweet giving way to intense hop bitterness - pine and grapefruit. Full bodied palate that got a bit thick as the brew rose in temperature. Average carbonation with a bitter hop finish. Overall I thought it was a great beer but a pricey one. For comparison I would point out the Stone Ruination as just as good but at a lower price point.
