4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Beaver (913) - Fort Collins, USA - OCT 2, 2011
22oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium frothy white head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is nice, lots of acidic brett with some sour apple and some musty hops.
The flavor is sweet tart fruity mouth-puckering sourness with some earthy acidic brett and a bit of hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, one of my favorite sours. A huge amount of sourness with some yummy brett.

10oz pour at Fountainheads. Pouring a murky amber/brown with a slender head, it had the tart aroma of mangos and cherries with a soft scent of floral hops. Puckeringly sour, the fruits continued over a light malt taste, a nice blending of the acidic and the sweet. It finished on a dry and sour note. Nice and easy sour.

A - Pours a fairly clear golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some thick lace.
S - Aroma is full of funky and tart green apple, candied citrus hops with some grapefruit and pinepple, and a bit of oak.
T - Starts off with some very tart green apple flavor with some citrus hops growing in the background with some bitterness. Through the middle, some more grapefruit and pineapple come through alongside some more bitterness, lemon, and a bit of toasted malt. The finish is a mix of mellowing tartness, citrus hops, mild bitterness, and a touch of sweet malt that really linger.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a tart, sweet, and dry finish.
D - Very drinkable. The dry hopping puts a nice hop element in the nose and in the flavor that adds a nice element to the sour beer.

A wonderful flanders red brew with a hazy amber orange color. A hint of sweetness in the nose and an lemony/citrusy sourness that teases the back sides of you tongue. EASY TO DRINK. BUY AGAIN!

22oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy burnt orange with minimal head. Aroma of sour fermented fruit, pineapple, mango, orange pulp and a little brett. Taste is heavily sour and light sweet. Green apple peel, grapefruit, brett and lemon. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long sour finish. Overall, I’m kinda diggin this beer. Every time I have a sour, it the style grows more and more on me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chuckaduck (266) - California, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Pours gold-green with a thin, bubbly white head. Aroma is pine, grass, sour, peach, pear, citrus, mango. Taste is sour, bitter, hoppy, fruity and very tart, lots of varying fruity notes and flavors. Very interesting. Lemon zest finish. The carbonation is a bit much, but otherwise, I enjoyed this.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Swillbur (51) - Arizona, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Poured into chimay chalice
A- Pours gold in color with two fingers of head. Has an unfiltered look with no lacing.
S- Peaches up front on the nose. Im also getting a sour funk along with apples, lemons, mangos and fruity hops. I think the mango is comming from the hops.
T- Wow, super tart but good. Lots of citrus fruits, mangos, grapefruit. Nice bitterness in finish.
D> Light body and carbonation is spot on! This beer almost numbs the lips. The sourness goes great with the bitterness in the end. It almost locked my jam the first time i had it but im glad to say i have had alot more and its a great summer sour beer!

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2012 The nose is quite sour, with lime, lime peel, some of the greenest mangoes ever, a touch of grapes, and also a touch of staleness, like a funky little something that, quite frankly, isn’t bad at all. The taste is predominantly sour, of course, with only a bit of lingering bitterness and some sweetness, but again, sour throughout. Lemons, limes, all things super tart. The mouthfeel is sticky, full-bodied, perfect. Somehow, the sum of it all manages to be a very drinkable beer. Lovely.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hapjydeuce (856) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Sour ale, tasted on tap at OBriens in San Diego. Backlogged rating, I believe from their barrel-aged beer night. One of my favorites of New Belgium to date. Appearance is hazy gold, with a light white ring of head. Aroma is of grains, pear, and a light barnyard funk. The flavor shows more of the sour character, along with lemon zest, funky cheese and biscuit, layered with complexity. Finishes dry with a nice dose of hops. Excellent!
