Commercial Description:
This special release was brewed on July 12th and bottled on September 8th, 2005. I used locally grown black currants to give this beer an intense berry flavor. Made with love, reverance and respect for the great beers of Belgium.

A truly unique looking beer. Reddish with white cloudiness. Tart cherries dominate both aroma and flavor. Somehow the flavor is as cloudy as the appearance. Unique but not great.

2005 bottle generously shared by bhensonb. This murky brown beer poured with no head at all and a currant aroma. There is a fruity malty flavor that is funked up in a good way. There is an oak sensation left on the palate.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Bottled in 2005. Pours a murky chocolate color with a light rim of bubbles. Berry aroma. Rather full in body with slight carbonation. Lots of oak. Astringent. Very fruity in a sour way. A good sour ale with lots of darkish berry. I like it.

’05 vintage courtesy of markwise. Pours deep murky dark brown, close to no head. Aroma is full of cassis goodness, puree with hints of malt and caramel. Flavor is hard to describe, just plenty of goodness with every sip getting better. Thick puree like mouthful of cassis with a nice lengthy tingly palate hinting toward some sourness. Hints of caramel and malts.

This 2005 vintage beauty is courtesy of markwise. Thanks! It pours murky muddy oxidized bloody brown with really no head whatsoever. The aroma is full and rich with smooth black currents, some earthiness, chewy aged malts and faint assorted spices. The taste is nice and rich and smooth with musty cassis goodness blending seamlessly into aged viscous malts and some smooth sweetness rounding things out. Wow! Tasty stuff.

2005 bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a murkey reddish beet juice color with off-white, almost strawberry head. Aroma is sweet and funky with notes of yeast, wheat, ripe fruit, cherry, more funkiness. Flavor is sweet and funky with notes of sour cherries, overripe fruit, caramel, honey, light bready yeast notes. Generally light to medium body with a slightly sour finish. Unusual beer but tasty.

Thanks to inflatablechair for this beer in trade. 05 Vintage. Pours murky rose brown with a small white head. Nose is booze, sour, cherries, fruit, currants, and strangeness. Flavor had extra strangeness, but a lovable quality, too. Flavor is a bit thicker than expected with booze, currants, berries, and sour quality. Strange, unique, and very enjoyable.

Bottle from Weibull tried at PP bottle shop. Dark amber color. Fruity. Leans dry. Small amount of tartness from the berries. Mellowed from 4 years of age. Alcohol well hidden. A little wierd, but OK.
