Pint bottle- poured out a deep, opaque, brown with a full khaki head. Aroma was dark fruit, figs(?) and plenty of malt. Tastes of coffee, malt and a slight, pleasant sweetness. Palate was perfect, thick with an oily smoothness. Overall an excellent stout. Will go back to this one again and look for others from St. Peters.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light soapy lacing that slid at a nice pace into the beer. The smell had a decent roasty creamy like chocolate to light coffee blend graced with a decent sweet maltiness. The taste was mainly sweet but had a element of roasty maltiness. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was extremely subdued but still not bad for the style. Overall, this was a pretty good English Stout worthy of having again.

Nice creamy head, strong taste, extremely enjoyable during cold months after a long day while unwinding by the fireplace. Reminds me of better times.

Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer and Beyond shop. Black, opaque with tan ring. Sweet, red grapes. slightly roasted - but only slightly - aroma. Tastes roasty, slightly bitter and a little alcoholic. Mildly carbonated, full-bodied, long, slightly roasty finish.

500 ml bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours dark brown in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, mild roast, nice chocolate character, thin, light body, the nose is more subdued than the flavor, hint of bitterness to the finish. Decent enough, especially since it probably had some time on the shelf.
