COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Note floral au nez. Pas mal de mousse. Le sucre de l’alcool se sent. Couleur dorée. Bouche symparhique plus floral que sucré.

Looks refreshing with a bright golden color. Smells of fruity yeast esters, citrus, vanilla and light spices. More of the same in the taste. Also, wheat, honey, oat sweetness, faint banana, apple and lemon. Light to medium body and finishes dry. A very nice Tripel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smels of a meadow lying next to an orchard of citrus fruit. Floral and citrus with a soft body of something banana’ish. Via tasting it has a slightly alcohol tasting feel in the end. Appearance is pale colored yellow with a hazy look. Foam is frothy and white and long lasting. Taste is a medium sweetness (less than expected from aroma) with a lightly bitter ending that stretches long. A medium body of sweetness and somewhat umami’ish. What I like to call a soft and broad feel on the toungue. Carbonation is soft although heavy with many small bubbles tickling all over. A nice beer for a warm summer night - less so for a cold winter with tapas in the dining room (as this was written). Quite complex taste and aroma, and a nice although notextraordinary palate.

33cl @ bottle. Ottima Tripel belga di cui potresti berne 1 lirtro di fila senza problemi. Beverina, dolce, dissetante.

Straw-yellow, light haze, 2-inches of billowing white head that fades at a moderate rate. Aroma is hop dominated. Juniper, pine, lemon grass, grass, herbs, dry wheat grain. Body is huge blanket of fizzy carbonation, moderate coarseness, medium-intense burn, light body, watery and a bit oily. Flavor has a unique lemon drop contribution (which includes a touch of candy sweetness), some grass and grain. Touch of apricot and minimal bitterness in the finish. Great tripel. Refreshingly light body. Still, the carbonation feel is a bit over-the-top. Lemon drop is a bit dominant in the flavor; could use a bit more yeast complexity.

Bottle at 28 Springs with Raith and Brisbane. Pours a crystal clear golden yellow. Aroma is bright and nicely floral. Perfume. Flavor has nice hop bittering and is floral. Slight wheat notes. Some orange also. Really nice beer.

From tap at the Beerstore, Thessaloniki. Clear golden color with white head. Fruity aroma, citrusy, dusty, yeasty. Sweet and light bitter taste like the aroma. Medium oily body with soft to average carbonation.

A mid golden orange coloured beer with a frothy white head. A floral and fruity aroma, hints of orange and rose, plus a slight spicy, clove candy aroma. Medium-dry mouthfeel. A strong but mildly tart fruit flavour to start, lots of citrus fruit and an alcohol piney resinous taste. There is a sweetish candy flavour that bring forward the floral element that I find underlying the fruitiness on the finish. Tasted at Brasserie du Lombard, Brussels. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
