Jan 2008: from BA. Another beer reviewed during a Belgian beer night at my daughters, bless her.
Cork and caged green .75 litre bottle, opened and poured by me. Best before 08/2009.
Lovely dark ambre brown in colour with a neat biege head.
The aroma and taste were the same, if you can believe that; fizzy, sweet, slightly bitter and dry.
Overal a very nice drink, but there are better versions of this style around, I’ll have another if the chance comes around that’s for sure.

33cl bottle at Alquitara (Vicalvaro). Brown colour with a large tan head with big bubbles that quickly diminishes maintaining a thin layer of head with a decent persistence. Aroma is caramelish and yeasty. Flavour is strong caramelish, sugary, toasty, bready and a final maintaining the sweetness with a good persistence, alcoholic. Texture is bready. Carbonation is medium. Body is high.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 GT2 (3961) - Washington DC, USA - APR 6, 2012
Tap at Iron Horse. Fully, cloudy blood ruby color with smaller white head. Quick diminish. Ultra, super sweet raisin nose. Taste is painfully metallic with cloying raisin sweetness and tangy acid. Black olive juice abounds. Ick. Old keg probably. Poor tap lines and system here. Powdery and metal shavings. Ugh.

Kapittel Prior (= primus inter pares, or the first among equals....)
Not for all, man. What’s this one ?
A black one, with a large brown undercolor, but what a nose !!
Very special..
