3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 drunkenpolack (275) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 10, 2012
Mephistopheles pours black. Pitch black. It’s thick. Huge crater filled head. Great retention and lacing. As soon as you pour this baby your nose is blasted with alcohol. It’s hot. In the aroma you can still pick up some other stuff. Like raisins, roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, and a shot of hops but it’s in the taste where everything for me just fell apart. The alcohol was just to big. It covered everything else. Sometimes I would pick up the other ingredients. Mainly the roasted malt and chocolate but then they would get covered up again by the alcohol. This beer is the perfect beer to have if you are stuck outside in 10 below weather. It’s sure to warm your body. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy.

Pours black as night with a couple fingers tan head. Smell is roasty, caramel, coffee, chocolate. No alcohol detected in the smell. The taste has a bit of booze. Lot’s of chocolate. Malty, deep, rich, and almost creamy flavors. This is a delicious stout that is highly drinkable for how alcoholic it is. Dangerous.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Drake (4801) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Served on draft at Timberwood Grille Charlottesville, VA. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin creamy dark brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, grapes, berries and an ashy note. The taste is big roasted malts, big booze, chocolate and grapes. Full bodied, very hot and very astringent. Really not very good at all.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 RayOhm (465) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 5, 2012
jet black, very thick pour. all the characteristics one would want in a stout, coffee, chocolate some licorice and fruityness. amazing that the alcohol is above 15%, you do get a bit of burn but it just adds to the complexity. thanks to Andrew for this one.

Thx to Polomagnifico !!
2010 version ( 15,95% ABV )
Head: medium, espresso/moka , creamy/foamy
Colour: very dark brown , almost black
Smell: lots of creamy milk chocolat , dried fruits, fruit licquor but not really boozey or alcoholic , ’i like that !!’ , hazelnuts, tiny bit of coffee licquor , more like irish or french coffee, a bit of vanilla as well, slightly roasted and wineous when "aired" a bit , so good !
Taste: alcoholic/licquorish sweet/candy sirup in the start, then comes in some touches of anise , malts, and some coffee bitterness , you have a slight alcohol burn in the troath , sweet sticky oily end , with a dry slightly roasted finish ,
Altough this isn’t really in the line of usual Imperial Stouts , i really like the beer on it’s own , and since i don’t rate a beer because of it’s style , i’d say it’s a succes for me !! , awesome and i want to try it again when aged a bit !!
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 redpooba (22) - - JAN 17, 2012
Like no other Stout in regards to its sheer complexity and sophistication. The flavor and alcohol content make this a slower enjoy. An absolute must.
