This is a fantastic example of a wet hopped beer, and I it is too bad the price is high and distribution is spotty in my area. Three Floyd’s never ceases to impress me with their hopped up ales. Well worth the purchase.

650ml bottle, $8.49. Slightly hazy orange-tan, massive fluffy white head. Fresh, zesty hop aroma. A really awesome IPA, lots of fresh citrus flavor, and some resiny pine. Light and pleasant on the palate, this is quite refreshing despite the big hop flavor. Really comes off quite West Coast, hop forward. Smooth melon tones, clean toasty golden malt. Quite a delicate beer, expertly executed.

Bottle - average size foamy head, medium amber/orange color, nice big piney hop aroma and flavor with a good malt backbone - very good IPA!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dbarnold (678) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Old notes...Pours orange, slight white head, some minimal white lacing. Great hops all over, bitter, somewhat piney, and very floral (at least in aroma). Finish is crisp and clean. Medium body at most, very drinkable. Very refreshing.

Deuce to pint. Appearance is good; University of Texas orange. Smell is probably its best attribute. The fresh hops are very recognizable, which is a good thing (that’s probably my favorite part of harvest brews). Taste is good too. The fresh hops are subdued, yet complex, just like a fresh-hopped beer should be. It tastes like it’s between a pale ale and an IPA, but at 7%, I can see why it’s categorized as the latter. The mouthfeel is good too. Overall, a good harvest brew - especially for the price (which you don’t hear too often about 3 Floyds brews).

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KickInChalice (772) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 29, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 12/24/2010. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip.
Broo Doo pours a mostly transparent full golden color with a hint of rosy pink. A 3 cm foamy white head forms on pouring, lingering and leaving lace splattered on the sides of the glass.
The aroma really jumps right out of the bottle. Candied hops, toffee, grapefruit, and some pine notes as well.
There is some malt presence in the flavor, but it is pretty much hops straight through. Tons of sweet, sticky pine and some lighter grapefruit overpowers the malt, which has a caramel sweetness of its own. It is bitter from start to finish, and a bitter aftertaste remains as well.
It is tingly on the tongue from the brisk carbonation. A little bit of hop oil residue stays on the tongue and adds a slight astringency to the feel, but a light creamy smoothness is there as well. Medium bodied.
The wet hopped nature of this beer really shines through nicely, although overall the beer ends up a little bit one dimensional for my taste. Three Floyd’s has put out so many hoppy beers with complex character that this one just seems simple. Not to say this is a bad beer; it is tough to describe, but the wet hops have a noticeably fuller spectrum of hop flavor compared to a normal IPA made with pellets.

Props to travlr on this. Dirty orange with a pillowy white head. Aroma is floral, potent, and pleasant. Very fresh. (Use the word bouquet). Taste is like rosewater, but dry. Reminiscent of fresh bread.

Bottle shared with evanlarkin. Hazy variegated golden brown color, large white head with moderate retention. Aroma is detectable from across the room as soon as the bottle is opened, with giant bouquets of flowers and perfume with a bit of gras and Hawaiian islands. Taste is bready, slightly toasty bitter caramel Very nice stuff.

Bottle. Thanks to SecretSanta. Pours cloudy golden with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose and flavor are dominated by fresh hops - but very well balanced and tasty. Pine, grapefruit, orange and a bit of soapy and perfumey hops. Smooth and crisp. Really lovely. Dry hoppy end.
