COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Coppery pour with a tons of thick foam. Aroma is a huge amount of citrusy hops. Flavor is very bitter with the citrus-like hops overpowering any malt flavors. Perfectly carbonated. Creamy mouthfeel. Finishes dry. Could use some more sweetness or complexity, but all in all this is a great hoppy IPA.

Appearance: clear pale to medium amber with two fat fingers of growing rocky ivory head, excellent retention and chunky lacing. (5/5) Aroma: caramel malt, resiny pine, citrus and floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (3/5) I was probably a bit harsh on this when I rated this last November, as part of a flight - though, it really is slightly disappointing, in a sense. The thing is, it’s a very traditional-style A/IPA (don’t ask me why it’s not considered a DIPA!) in that the fairly heavy bitterness is very much supported by an equally heavy (if not more so) caramel maltiness. I mean, this thing is only two months old, but the malt is already dominating. It’s fine for what it is, and I have little doubt it was among the best that 2009 had to offer, but there are far more interesting implementations of the style out there now. (14/20)

Typical Sierra Nevada bottle but no information about the malts, hops and drinktemperature in detail. A cloudy amber beer with a nice cream-colored head, smell is light Belgian yeast, light malty, body is medium, soft carbonation, texture oily, finish long, bitterness is dominated, (I have 0.355l bottle with batch 03916 A1P 02:52 and PKGD 02/17/16 1017) I don’t feel the fruits and so I will try again this beer.

Beautiful appearance. Aroma. Resin, sweet fruit, caramel. Taste: caramel, sweet, herbal bitterness. Properly intense. Quite full-bodied. Bit too oxidized, too much alcohol in the aftertaste. Fresh must be much better

Just doesn't make it to Europe very fresh. I've had this beer stateside and it tasted much better. I hope they build a Sierra Nevada outlet in Europe sometime soon.

Carmel flavours run through this big piney west coast style IPA. The heavy flavours mesh well and sit quite smooth on the palate. Absolute cracker of a beer. One of my favourite IPAs from one of my favourite breweries that started me on the quest to craft beer.

Gold color with big white head. Aroma and taste are hops, caramel, some fruit. Medium sweet and bitter. I thought this was pretty good but didn’t live up to the huge hype for me.

KoNrRiI (1095) - Århus, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2016

0.355 bottle.
Clear, light brown color and a huge, perfectly white head. Aroma of pale malts, citruses, a hint of yeasts, coniferous trees, and dough. Taste is a combination of hoppy, fruity, piney flavors and softer, malty and yeasty tones - mostly bitter but with significant exceptions. A medium body, an oily texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is medium long, even short for an IPA, generally follows the taste. Overall not bad, a great advantage of this IPA is that it does not have this tremendously long, astringent, hoppy aftertaste which is so typical for the style.
