COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unfiltered.

375ml bottle poured into a tulip. Appearance is a hazy medium orange with a fluffy one finger head. Lots of carbonation and great head retention. Aroma of orange and lemon with really only a slight hint of funk. Some wet hay and barnyard but it is not overpowering. There is a bit of yeastiness as well. The funk comes through a little more on the taste but once again it is restrained compared to other examples of this style. Lemony lime citrus is much more prominent and there is some pear as well. I think I can even taste a little bit of caramel. Quite a bit of tartness is present leading to an incredibly crisp, dry finish. This is my new favorite gueuze. It is perfectly balanced with the citrus, funk, and sourness all in balance. While I tend to like extremely funky brews it is nice to experience a good balance. A top notch brew.

375ml bottle at Hopleaf. Pours dark golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is of sour vinegar, lemons, oak and tons and tons of funkiness. Highly carbonated, almost champange-like. Taste is very tart; lemons, sour apple, vinegar and oak/wood. It’s funky but fairly clean at the same time. The finish is less tart than some other gueuzes but the balance is lovely. Overall, a terrific gueuze. And even better, the experience of drinking this gueuze was greatly enhanced by the fact that the man sitting next to me was sporting a Rollie Fingers mustache...

Bottle. Thanks Tommy! Pours a cloudy light amber with an off white head. Aroma is lemon, apple, pepper, and oak. Taste is complex featuring lemon, apple, barnyard, straw, yeast, pepper, and oak. Medium light body with good carbonation. Nothing sets itself as the stand out quality of the beer - it is extremely well rounded abd balanced. Great Gueuze

750 ml bottle from czar, also shared with Albatross and friends. Pours a veiled golden with a thick, bubbly, resilient white head. Aroma is wild yeasts, cheese (???), jungle, rainforest. Flavor is jungle, forest, wild fruits, cheese. Finish is dry as heck, tons of tartness, like having sour candies. Quite possibly the most refreshing beer I’ve ever had. Light to medium body, very high carbonation. Very solid!

75cl bottle at a friends house. We are both beer lovers. Don’t like it at all. Worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It’s very sour and tastes like vinegar. We poured it away.

This one poured a murky light orange color with a large white head. Aroma was light apple vinegar, cheese, wet wood, cobb webs, and cherries. Flavor was similar, less sour than I was expecting from the aroma, moderately funky, but nothing off putting. Very well rounded lambic.

A nice but unexceptional gueze and no where near the best non vintage on the market in my opinion. Would rank Boon, hannsens, Cantillon and Tilquin ahead of ti to name but a few. That is not to say it is not a fine gueze and well priced in Belgium at least.
