4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Vestergaard (27) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - MAY 28, 2012
One of my two favorite geuzes. Beautiful amber with a medium sized soapy head. Smells like grape fruit, vinegar and stable. Taste like gooseberry, white wine and different citrus fruits. Really really nice and balanced despite lots of nice sourness.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Nocturne (142) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2012
375ml bottle. Pours out a hazy orange with one finger of foam. Big funky notes from the moment the bottle is uncorked, but I soon discovered that the magic will really happen in the mouth. Having dabbled in gueuze before without quite appreciating it, this was the moment where it all seemed to click. The oak and lemon characteristics shine through while the sourness is mouth-watering without being overbearing. Really special.

This is an outstanding gueuze! Its well balanced taste makes it easily drinkable, espeially for a sour beer. Would recommand for anyone who likes this style!

Bottle 750 ml. Hazy golden orange with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is sour fruits, grapefruit, apple, funky barnyardness and wood. Taste is lemony, grapefruit, sour fruits and acidic. Both aroma and taste are very complex. Easy to drink because of an almost perfect balance, this is one heck of a gueuze! A masterpiece...
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rbrazell (362) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 22, 2012
2012 bottle. Massive pop of a cork! Slightly hazy deep gold color with a foamy white head that laces. Aroma of tart lemon, light grain, stinky cheese, and yeasty funkiness. Flavor isn’t that sour as it is tart and funky. Yeasty leather and lemon. Finishes dry. Delicious beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2012
Sampled from 0.375l bottle @ Ølfestival København 2012. A blurry copper beer with a soft and kind sidesticking off-white head. It has a light tart and acidic aroma with some lemons and wood immediately. Actually quite nice. Not to sour at all in flavor! Was expecting a heavy tart and super sour gueuze. Really mild and kind. Light woody flavors, a good amount of citrusy lemons. Surprised over this. Not what I had pictured in my head, and that can often be a bad thing. This time however, I quite liked it! 10.05.2012
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tiong (1302) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAY 20, 2012
Tasted @ Gastropub Tuulensuu geuze blind tasting 2012. #5/15 overall rating
Pours darkish orange with a tiny head. Different aroma compared to the other geuzes, some tart fruits and herbal notes. Taste is smooth with some slightly tart fruits, berries and slight herbal notes. Finish is tart, slightly smooth with some sourness. Well balanced.

What a wonderful surprise to pick a beer like this up off the shelf in a grocery store. I loved the mild funk I got to this while still being totally palatable. I am very happy I picked up a few bottles of this when I could!

Bottle to snifter. Looks fine; copper. Smells nice and funky. Tastes pretty good too with a nice feel on the palate. Good geuze, but not great.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GammelNok (13) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with minimal white head. Complex rustic aroma - barnyard or basement, vinegar. Very sour taste pleasantly accompanied by some sweetness. Medium body, lively carbonation with dry finish. Very nice.
