4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 CLevar (374) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 14, 2013Bottle thanks to Bacterial...what a treat Jeff! Of the three or four bottles of this I have tried, this one was BY FAR my favorite. 2011 Vintage. Pour is a clear light red/dark pink, with a nice head that fades rather quickly but leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is not quite so heavy on the barnyard as other samples I have had (read: Not as much "Authentic Fecal Aroma"), and the subtle nature of the funk really worked for me. Some nice damp basement dustyness, light fruit, light acid, and some tannin to finish. Dry mouthfeel. Really, really nice beer, I wish all the samples of this that I have had were so great!

on tap at alewife’s beers gone wild event. it was decanted from a key keg via a modified connector, which helped increase the roundness of the lambic. beautiful clear garnet red color, no head, enticing sour note in the nose, very smooth sourness -- not sharp at all. some red wine character in the background.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heavy (1989) - Split, CROATIA - MAY 27, 2013
16/04 A 0.75 l bottle, courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! Bottled in 2012, poured hazy dark red with pink head. Berry fruit aroma, some cherries, generally French red wine with touch of wood and yeast. Flavor was slightly acidic, also only a little bit sweetish, again more similar to wine, tart with berry fruitiness. Medium bodied with moderate, slightly sweet and mostly astringent finish with lot of tannins. A great blend, actually most similar thing to an elegant, complex wine I’ve ever rated on RB.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 SPDickerman (717) - Texas, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Pours fuchsia with a fast fading pink head. Smells exceptionally vinous, clearly like merlot. Taste is sour and fruity, without a doubt sour grapes. Medium-bodied with an astringent texture and prickly mouth-carbonation, Cantillon Saint Lamvinus finishes with a soft tartness.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Minderbinder (824) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 13, 2013
Bottle 750ml.
Pours clear red/pink with almost no head (very low pink). Aroma is of sourness, grapes, fruits. Taste is sour, fruits, grapes. Palate: Ligth body. Overall: Very interesting grapes. Reminiscent of a clear young table wine. As the sourness feeling fade out, sips besome more and more interesting (imo). Not quite as complex as I would have expected. Very easily drinkable. A somewhat unique beer. I was surprised I did’nt get any barnyard/funk, maybe hidden by the grapes.
