4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 beerlover82 (189) - Gettysburg, USA - OCT 18, 2011
Having had nothing but pumpkin ales for the last two weeks, I tired of that and decided to get back to the fall classic: Oktoberfest-Marzen. For good lager-type brew, can’t do better. Saw this in the store and picked it up, as I love Victory Brewing and surprisingly haven’t had it yet.
Here goes:
Pours a beautiful shiny orange/copper-amber with a solid thick and bubbly white head. Nice retention. Thin lacing that sticks for a reasonable while.
Aromatic notes of sweetness, caramel-like barley, bread and dryness.
Toasted barley, and sweetness all around wave on the tongue, followed by a slight hint of faint hop twang, and finishes nice and dry. Medium body, with very minimal carbonation, allowing the barley sweetness and other characteristics to come through easily.
I really like this one. As good as any authentic made-in-Germany Marzen. And a lot better than some.
Victory scores another home-run with this one, but then again, when do they not?
Four Stars(out of four)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Originally reviewed: 10/9/09. Poured this into my pint. Pours a crystal clear copper with a thin off-white head on top. No lace whatsoever. Smells of caramelized malts, and fresh breads. Nothing standout.
The mouth on this one is a bit harsh. This is way overly carbonated. Hinders drinkability a bit. Fresh slight hoppy bite at the onset, but this finishes mellow and slightly sweet. I really like the aftertaste on this. Nice bready flavor going on. Not too bad of a beer here.
3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 arkotramathorn (22) - Eau Claire, USA - APR 27, 2012
Bottle at Fosters cheese haus, nose is very sweet completely surprised me. Great mouth feel, loved the slightly sheath malty hoppy taste. Such a simple beer in general, its not trying so hard to be impressive and ends up being awesome.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 maneliquor (1189) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 22, 2012
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours ruby with a small hue of a white head. Nose is very malt driven. Loads of caramel and dry biscuit. Works well. Taste is caramel dominated with light fruits lingering on the finish. Rather nice brew for its style

Bottle 330ml from the local taphouse. Nice malty beer, with hoppy notes. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, with hints of cola and also herbs. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a thin head.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beyond (23) - Minnesota, USA - APR 17, 2012
Deep amber pour with small off-white head. This is a smooth, friendly, malty brew with caramel overtones. The palate feel is excellent. Some subdued fruitiness lingers. While I’m usually a stout and porter guy, this brew pleases. Another victory for Victory.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluevegie (2930) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 10, 2012
Amber body with short head. Caramel in the aroma and in the taste, a little thin, easy drinking but the style doesn’t do a lot for me.

Bottle @ Timbers, Denver. Pours amber with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts, grass. Taste is sweet with malt, caramel, nuts, chocolate, followed by a good grassy hoppyness that balances it well. Medium body, soft carbonation. 110312
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 UDBeernut (465) - Saugerties, New York, USA - FEB 26, 2012
A: light tan/ amber, slight foamy off white head with good retention reduces to a light lacing ring
S: sweet and slightlt bready.
T: more well balanced than the nose would suggest. Caramel and vienna malt provide the backbone, slight grass, and flower
M&d: medium to full bodied, decent amount of carbonation. A very good beer on a cool autumn day.
