On tap PP Carlsbad. Wow, Hops, hops, and more hops. This one came close to knocking me off my feet, thank goodness I was sitting down. A delicious DIPA. Worth the trip to Carlsbad.

Pours orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of grassy hops, pine, resin and caramel. Taste is smooth, hoppy and resinous with some grass and pine. Finish is lingering bitter, smooth and sweetish with some caramel, grass, pine and resin. Heavy.

Draught (nitro) @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad as "Poor Vato". Aroma has sweet resiny malt and tropical fruits. Flavour has strong hoppiness, menthol and grapefruit. Too much menthol here.

Draught as "Poor Vato" (nitro) @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad, CA. Pours a hazy golden colour with a creamy head. Aroma of heavy floral bitterness, spiciness and herbs. Flavour is rather extreme with itís heavy bitterness, pungent herbal notes, grapefruit, dankness and spices. Full bodied. Oily smooth mouthfeel. It seems that our poor man has lots of hops.

Poor Vato in Carlsbad location. 9% poured in full pint on Nitro??? Very creamy head, smooth with solid lacing. Canít get over this. Aroma of freshly cut lawn, slightly piney. Taste goes with mouthfeel, back to nitro presentation. Smooth dank and pleasing, peppery in the end.

Great hoppy beer. Thick oily hop residue in flavor.....a good thing. Similar to the Russian river IPAs. Hops trickled down tongue and lasted and lasted. Awesome to say least.

Pours clear amber with a nice white top that stays. Aroma is fruity but some rougher hops are also there. Earthy and down-to-earth IPA. Taste is very strong and powerful, hope overdose in a second, lots of very bitter stuff, rough and probably intentionally unbalanced. Reminds me mud, autumn and some frozen apples swinging on a tree. I forgot to mention - its also pretty good!

On tap at Harryís Hofbrau. Explosion if tropical fruit and citrus with a moderate woody aspect. Slight hazy dark orange with full white head. Taste is strong citrus, orange with forest floor and pine. Bread and slight caramel in moderate amounts balance the beer well. Wonderful.

On tap at Beer Baron. It pours a golden orange color with an off white head. The aroma is dank and bready with some orange and a little cookie-like malt. The flavor is spicy/floral hops with some cookie, light caramel, dank, citrus and pine. Pretty enjoyable and great hop character, but a little too heavy on the palate.
