750mL bottle. Epic. Looks like normal St. B, brown in color, good lacing, khaki head, a little bubbly and unstable. Aroma is complex, I get currant, and a bit of unfermented yeast. Taste is complex as well, dark fruits, bitter chocolate, and a taste of alcohol as well. Surprisingly drinkable despite its complexity. Perfect aftertaste and finish. I knew I’d love this one.

A rich, burnt, dried fruit of a beer that is perfect for Christmas. Smells of sweet sherry & tastes of caramel cake. Rated by BrewTom

A dark reddish brown coloured beer with a fan coloured, frothy head. A heady alcohol led aroma, with ripened forest fruits, spice and treacle. Strangely light bodied for it’s strength and a fizzy mouthfeel. A mouth filling taste, boozy, cherry and plum ripened fruit, treacle and dark caramel flavours bring on a mild clove spice. The finish is long, fizzy and full flavoured.

@ Havregatan 150124. Bottle (750 ml) from Systembolaget. Malty, fruity and caramely with spicy and alcoholic notes, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is sweet and fruity with spicy notes and some alcohol warmth.

Started cold and went to warm, out of a 750. Had several separate flavors at first. Fig is a definite flavor through out the whole experience. As it warmed up everything started to come together. Smooth, flavorful, delicious. Tongue feel still had some fizz to it which took away the full effect of smoothness.. Overall do it again. Thanks

Pretty cool burgundy pour w/ a huge foamy tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is a little boozy, a touch sour, & full of malt. The taste is well balanced w/ some caramel malts standing out. My only knock would be that it finishes a bit thin for such a strong beer. However, it’s tasty & highly drinkable at 10%. Nice!

Bottle. Blackish brown beer with a strong slightly off white head. The aroma is spiced and vinous, the flavour is spiced with a vinous roastedness, with yeasty hints. Overall a nice strong Belgian ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vertical of 2010-2013 shared by raveskdr. Thanks Chris! Copper brown body with a broken beige head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, caramel malt, well water, mineral, raisins. Smooth flavor, showing some signs of age (’10, ’11). Medium bodied with soft carbonation on all vintages, with the most recent perhaps a bit more vibrant. Lots of flavor. Slightly sweet, with subtle spice and a touch of brown sugar. Tasty.

A vertical of 2010, ’11, ’12, and ’13, many thanks Chris. Pours a clear plum brown with active foamy light beige head that leaves spongy lacing. Aroma is complex - candi sugar, dark fruits, yeast spice character and sweet brown bread. Flavor is same - this beer is clearly meant to be aged. The ’10 is deliciously round and mellowed out, and the ’13 is surprisingly hot. Buy now, drink after at least 2 years.

A opaque brown body with a tan head that had good retention and nice lace. Aroma was a mix of dried fruits, cloves brown sugar and toasted malts. Flavor had a nice level of sweetness and dove to it. Nice cloves and sugar. Dark fruits and a light tannin in the finish. Nice mouth feel alcohol was well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
