4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ohemming (27) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 4, 2012
22 oz. bottle poured with a nice thick head that I expect on a big beer. A very dark and thick beer with big body to match the 9.4% alcohol, nice balance. All around a very solid beer that goes down smooth for such a big stout. You can see why it won another gold medal. Nice beer.

Bottle at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured jet black with a thick forming, light brown head. Dark malts with intense roast and sweetness. Molasses, anise, contributed to medley of dark spiced characters with a nice warming alcohol tone. A hint of floral hops that balanced all of the chocolate, mocha characters going on. Pretty superb.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tkrjukoff (2236) - SWEDEN - JAN 29, 2012
Bomber from ... can’t remember. Pours pitch black with a nice creamy brown head leaving a lace. Aroma is heavily roasted, malty, a bit sweet, coffee, chocolate, some licorice, dark fruits and vanilla. Flavor follows the aroma, velvety yet not too thick, very drinkable. Excellent after a dinner instead of a cup of espresso. Some alcohol warming tones in the finish with bitterness and roastyness. Excellent stuff.

From a bomber with a GABF winner sticker on the neck, poured into a brandy snifter. Pours B.L.A.C.K. as midnight with a small amount of brown head and very little lacing, odd. Very powerful aroma. Lots of warm booze, coffee, and for some reason Belgian-like dark fruit. Very nice. Mouthfeel is moderate, a little lighter that I would have thought but still hefty. Taste is slightly boozy, but mainly just warm. Coffee, chalk, berries, marshmellow and must. Overall, good but not great. I expected something more. Still very good.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mcmisko (113) - - JAN 25, 2012
Great stout with good mild carbonation and think complex flavors. Notes of dark hot cocoa with cream and sugar, countered with a touch of fresh hops. Great stout!!!!!
4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 dreadnord (128) - Castel Volturno, ITALY - JAN 21, 2012
Pours like motor oil and syrup with a small tan head. Looks great! Nose is nose is vanilla, whiskey and hops. Flavor is sweet and bitter. Perfect balance. Mouthfeel is silk and velvet. Coats the mouth perfectly. This is and outstanding beer.
