4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 GriffinAvenue (396) - Winchester, USA - JUN 15, 2009
Bottle. Lemon coloring. Clear. 1/2" head with visible and active carbonation. Noticeably citrusy in aroma, like a pungent graprefruit. Tangy and hoppy to the tongue that gives way to fruity notes, esp apricot-like finish. Medium body and evenly balanced throughout. Love the kick on top and this is a clear new favorite for me, a rival to Bells Hopslam for my affections.

Love this brew, definitely my DIPA go to whenever I can find it. Super clean and very tasty. A little malty but nowhere near other IIPA’s. Very citrus forward, grapefruit, lemon and some spices in the mix.

Great imperial ipa. citrusy flavor and malty sweetness hides the booze in this quite well. I’ve even aged this one before and even though the aroma fades it gets even smoother and goes down even easier. I really enjoy the dt.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Advocate_Ames (16) - - MAY 29, 2012
A descent beverage. It wont blow your mind but it will combat your taste buds. Maybe there is why Im not getting married to this brew. It takes you for a ride in flavor but the intensity dies down & you are left with an after taste that stays with you. In the end its the after taste that doesnt impress or entice me to fall in love here. On a good note its such a smooth beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 high_on_hops (212) - Missouri, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a white head and lacing. The aroma is a great combination of grapefruit and pine. The flavor is soft up front for a DIPA, with a strong grapefruit and citrus middle, where the high alcohol content is apparent, and a long spicy and bitter aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Finhead (705) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2012
A hazy, peach color with a white head and good lacing. The aroma is a nice mixture of citrus, grass, and a touch of spiciness. This full body has a thick texture that ends a little sticky. It has a bittersweet opening flavor that grows in bitterness well beyond the swallow. The alcohol is virtually unnoticeable, which could be a dangerous thing.

Dry citrus finish. Almost a lemon peel flavor. Lively mouth feel. Grapefruit notes and a very slight malt note. No head, no lace. Bright yellow color.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopsandvines (38) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Pours yellow murky, unfiltered in the glass. Aromas of citrus, and grapefruit, nice nose. Flavor is smooth with a light to med body, hops all the way though the beer. Nice dry finish, another gem from Founders. Move to Asheville, NC like all the big boys. This beer is incredibly light and drinkable for 9.2%; eyes shut I would think is was 7.5%!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rbrazell (362) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle from Liam’s in Thomasville, GA. Pours a deep gold color with a white head that laces all the way down the glass. Aroma is strong citrusy hops, pine and floral notes. Flavor is very balanced with tons of juicy hops and nicely refined. Finishes bitter and clean. Very tasty beer.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerBeCue (21) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 26, 2012
12oz bottle poured into snifter. Pours an incredibly nice golden with almost no head which reduces to one of the tinyest rIng I’ve ever seen. Aroma is of hops obviously, citrus, malt...and its very floral. Taste is extremely well balanced for this imperial IPA, the sugar and bitterness and oh my gosh! Seriously this is awesome! Body is full, carbonation is very light. Texture is moderately oily and finish medium-long. I had this while eating BBQed stuff and it was awesome! I would buy this stuff anytime again. One of my favs for sure.
