4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle from the beer store in Southampton. Golden pour with a tiny copper head and a lack of sediment belies the hop onslaught to come. Aroma is powerful grassy, pine from centennial, chinook, amarillo, probably others. There’s a bitter spiciness to the taste that suggests noble hops. It’s appropriately bitter, but so well balanced the sweetness and bitterness take turns dancing on your palate. Grassy, Pine, grapefruit, general citrus taste. Worthy of the ranking.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white creamy to frothy mostly lasting head that leaves good lacing, Aroma is faint but is of pine, resin and hay. Light to medium body, oily texture, light to medium bitter, average carbonation with very fine bubbles and a long bitter finish. No hint of the 9.4 abv and all with a solid malt backbone.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasting from Nov’ 2013.
At just on cool and into a snifter. Pastel orange and hazy with very fine carbonation that rises sluggishly to atmosphere. Thick, tight and tidy snow-white crown holds on for the length but leaves minimal lace, being off-set instead by oily legs. Initial hint of straw and damp haybales gives way to candied strawberry, rose water musk, apricot and peach, perfume heat and a little burnt plastic atop your usual herbaceous and piney US hop notes. Chunky, big bodied and viscous in mouthfeel. Predominant, tangy orange marmalade up front, shifting gear to herbaceous and resinous hops in the back with an assertive, rough and lasting bitterness. Lots of juicy stone-fruit powers in with no mention of that 9.4% ABV. Floral, rose musk and grapefruit in the linger. Malty, biscuity base hints at granola but ties in well. This is lipsmacking great stuff, despite the small frays of the nose. Keeps good from go to whoa. A very pleasing IIPA! (12fl.Oz, BB 24/02/14, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to tulip
Pepper, pine, light tropical fruits, cat urine, and orange rind aromatics. Light amber colour, very clear, lots of effervescence, and a 1/2 cm frothy brilliant white head. Up front, I get the tropical fruit and grape fruit, then malt, and finally the heavy bitterness and pepper. Well done. You can certainly taste the alcohol, but I’d never have guessed 9.4%.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a super clear orangey gold, med light white head. Aroma is dank pineforest, citrusy hop, resin. Flavor is med sweet (some booze) & quite bitter (pine & grapefruit). Super clean, big, well produced DIPA... fairly smooth just hints of booze.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance was clear orangish gold with lasting creamy white 1 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are orange, pineapple, grapefruit, mango with soft pale, crystal malts. Taste are orange, grapefruit, soft pine and pineapple with mild sweet backbone malts. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium body, lasting balanced fruity bitter finish. A good solid DIPA, drink it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This one can stand with the NW big boys. Nice citrus/pine aroma, dark golden color, small but sticky head, adequate lacing. Taste is right in the wheelhouse for a DIPA, again high ABV hides behind the hops. Very drinkable, smooth, mildly bitter. Packs a bit of a punch.
