4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear translucent mahogany, with a thick, lasting cap of light tan head that leaves tremendous crusty lace. Aroma is all deep, dark malts bounding in spicy, nutty, and woody notes with some pronounced fruit notes as it warms. Full, rich flavor dominated by a toasty malt character but balancing toward bitter and boozy into the finish. Complex flavor profile, but well balanced; not jumbled. There are nuts, holiday spices (nutmeg, cinnamon), toffee and vanilla notes. Medium bodied and smooth, with a very nice warming finish. I forgot how good this stuff was...just a great example of a winter warmer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of candied fruitcake and molasses. Flavors of dark fruits, aged caramel, and biscuits. Finishes thin and boozy. Not bad but the ending is disappointing.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent warmer. Nice dark color, deep red brown and hazy. Scent has some cloves and grassy spice. Sweet scent, but taste didn’t carry that over. Light taste for a warmer. Nice and lifting. Mouth feel is clean. Tap

12oz bottle into glass. Pours a rich Amber brown. Light white lacing, clings in areas, head is about 3cm. Aroma of cherry cola, dark fruits, oak, rum. Taste of berries, booze guidance, tart apple, ripe cherry. Great seasonal beer. Dark fruits linger afterwards.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 2 each very cold 12 oz. cans into an english pint glass (the remaining ale kept cold in de can in de fridge) and, my goodness, a near perfect warming ale befitting as befitting the snow beginning to fall.
A full, warm aroma of dark malts; a hardy, reddish-brown color; tastes that satisfy the wintering soul. my take: ENJOY!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great for the style. They managed to bring out spicy/ festive notes without adding any actual spice- malts come together beautifully. Pours a pale mahogany. Super nutty. On the sweet side but spice tempers it. Not overlyl boozy for 8.3%. Better than I expected.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour from can in recently bought six pack so no additional aging by me. Mahogany with soft white cloud of a head. Smoother than I expected and not boozy, up front molasses, some toffee, vanilla, very clean finish. Need to retry after some aging as I suspect it will improve but this was very good as is.

Pours a reddish brown. Thin head. Aroma of caramel malt, sweet fruit, light chocolate, slight roast. Taste is smooth, kinda rich, dry and crisp finish. Sweet caramel, light chocolate and slight roast, pepper, spice. A little citrus. Not a bad English strong ale.
