Poured into tulip. Hasty pour, left about four fingers of light tan head. Very dark color. Smell is a hint of chocolate and coffee. Taste is creamy chocolate with a bitter hoppy finish. Very smooth. Love this beer.
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 high_on_hops (121) - Missouri, USA - FEB 9, 2012
A black body with a brown head and a whole lot of lacing. An aroma of hops, malt, and strong coffee with a small amount of chocolate and alcohol. The flavor has lots of hops and malt with coffee and some chocolate and a very smooth aftertaste.

flora malty oldness, dark but hard to tell drank from bottle, taste was largely roasted malts, did pick up some floarness from hops, overall this was a older bottle some some of the flora hops may have faded, but a good stout none the less!
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 kathouse (237) - Nevada, USA - FEB 8, 2012
Pours deep black with a creamy tan head. Leaves good thick lacings. Aroma of chocolate, cherries, and a noticeable "perfume" type floral smell. Medium body and creamy smooth mouthfeel. Fruity and biscuit at the start, toasted wood in the middle, and burnt toast in the finish. Dry with a hint of fruit in the end. Great complexity but needs a little more body.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 slakemythirst (73) - - FEB 8, 2012
Tobak och rökiga toner av lakrits. Smakar OK men den här ölen är lite ogästvänlig..beskan är brysk. Balansen kunde varit bättre. Slutsats: Inte imponerad.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ALLOVATE (1534) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - FEB 7, 2012
At cellar temperature and into a snifter. Darkness in the glass, no light at all. Well conditioned, very fine carbonation streams slowly up to a tight and tidy tan pad that holds on for dear life, strange of beers of this style. There is smooth, velvety chocolate on the nose, quite pronounced, with inklings of vanillin, molasses, dust, earth and liquorice root. Light spritz upfront otherwise this is smooth on the tongue, powdery but not silky. Very warming swallow, very noticeable alcohol, but by no way’s it to its detriment, really gives you the shivers the way a dram of whisky would. Lots of milk chocolate, smoke and bonfire ash. Mildly bitter, malty thick swallow leaves more smoke and ash to linger, striking the taste buds and drawing on the saliva glands. Levels out quick, lacks complexity but makes up for it with being so harmonious in flavour and aroma. It all works well for a slow sipper. I like it. A very likeable brew worthy of its 100! Smells smokey. Rich chocolate brown color with a cream colored head. Can’t see through it. It looks fantastic. Tastes smokey and licorice.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 BayAreaBeers (70) - Fremont, California, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Pours a super dark ruby brown with no head. The aroma is dark fruits, coco, vanilla. Taste follows with a nice little burn on the end just to let you know your drinking. Very good.
