COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia’s Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It’s a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.

The Old Rasputin brand image is a drawing of Rasputin with a phrase in Russian encircling it—A sincere friend is not born instantly.

On tap at Josie Bones. Appears jet black with a stable collar of beige -coloured head. Cracking silky smooth creamy mouthfeel with a full rich body and all the ramped up flavours of a good stout (sweet roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee, chocolate and nuts). Finishes dry with a subtle bitterness. Excellent.

Bottle from Bev. Rich, thick, dark apperance. Syrupy mouth feel, like a desert in a glass. Alcohol is apparent but well mellowed.

Pours jet black with minimal head into a snifter. Smoky aromas with chocolate and coffee undertones. A smooth taste for 9%abv. Taste the dark roasted malt flavor. A great stout. My go to stout in fact

Keg at the bat. Black, creamy light tan head. Ethiopian coffee beans (?!), bitter chocolate nose. Sweetish middle with fruity bitterness throughout. Lots going on, can see why it gets raves.
