Commercial Description:
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor's Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Can. Subtle aroma with some sweet and a hint of roast. Huge chocolate on this bad boy with some coffee undertones and a subtle hint of sour complexity. Goes down smooth and easy.

BAM! Big beer in yer face n down yer gullet! Served with a nice fine foamy, frothy tan head and good lace. Color is an opaque brownish black. Aroma is very malty, roasty, burned sugar, dark ripe fruits, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor’s the same but way more intense. There’s a sharp blast of bittersweetness upon first sip. Body is full, rich, and like very ripe fruit. Excellent carbonation too. Boozy at the end. Ok for a long slow sipping session. Careful though!

this beer....well, first let me say that the can is soft. so you can press the sides in, unlike with a soda...the carbonation level of this beer is non-existent...more on that later. the pour from this beer reveals spent penzoil. UN-BE-LIEVABLE! and with such a lack of carbonation, you would figure...no head right? well, to my surprise, almost 2 fingers, with an admittedly, agg. pour. extremely dark head beckons the nose. aromas are of sweeeeet sweet malt, roasty, toasty, and everything in between...aroma was way above average, but wasn’t extreme, thus the 8/10 rating. this beer hits your mouth with something you’ve never tasted before. liquorice, honey, chocolate (though not as much as you’d think), ginger....this is too complex, it’s utterly incredible. the creamy mouthfeel is balanced perfectly by the carbonation, which actually does show it’s head. this is a very exciting beer. lacing is unbelievably thick and sticky all the way down. the sheer richness of this hides the 98 IBU’s incredibly well, along with the 9.5% alcohol content. overall...if you can find this beer, buy this beer...in-fact, buy 3 4 packs of it...more if you desire...this is one of the best stouts i’ve ever had in my life.

i have yet to see a canned beer pour so dark black, so thick and so dark of a head as this one(amazing). it poured black as night in a land with no sun, the head was the darkest i have ever seen in this style, dark brown and chocolate. the head settled to a very nice cap that didnt go anywhere. the body has no light penetration at all. the aromas are roasted malts, caramel, strong coffee, and a little toffe with sugar and really ripe dark fruits. it is almost full bodied and the taste is out of this world and very complex. i get chocolate, coffee and sugar to just name a few. i get slight clove, ripe banana, great bitterness from the hops which do noting but justice to this beer. it is also buttery and great hints of toasted biscuits with confectioners sugar. very malty, and yet, very hoppy. it finishes dry with a buttery aftertaste which is to die for. it lingers for just the right amount of time and i wish it would not go away. i am super impressed by this beer and will try to drink again if it were a little bit less pricey. in other words, awsome beer worth drinking every night.

Really dark and viscous with not too much carbonation. The head is thin and medium brown in color. Great roasted flavors with some coffee in the mix as well. Really enjoyed this one.

A big thank you to Adrian for giving me another great beer! A full, dark head. This baby has quite a look to it. It is from a can. This is probably the best beer I have ever had from a can. It looks like Oskar Blue is pioneering/promoting the idea that great beer can come out of a can as well as from a bottle or a keg. With results like this, who could argue? A sweet aroma of malt and coffee, with a touch of cheese. Very flavorful and full of flavor or whatever - beef broth, coffee, caramel, iron, molasses, soy sauce - in a word, wow! A delicous and complex superstout that rockets to the top of my charts.

Dark chocolate brown with a thin dark khaki head. Aroma of dark chocolate covered espresso beans, raisins and licorice. Full oily palate. Lots of bitter chocolate and coffee flavors with some nice roasty malt. Cool design and packaging boost the appearance to a five in my opinion. Nice little Impy Stout!
