4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Completely black pour into a snifter produced very little head. However, the foam that appeared was scarcely lighter than the beer! Chocolate/coffee dominates both nose and mouth. Very thick on the palate initially, but is not cloying at all. Probably a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. I would never have purchased this had it not come recommended by fellow beer drinkers I trust.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
355ml can. A thick black pour with a chocolate brown cap. Messy lacing. Rich chocolate nose, roast, caramel, coffee and a hint of licorice. Taste has big roasted malts that bring out black coffee beans, and dark chocolate, some caramel. Finishes with decent bitterness, lots of dark coffee and roast notes. Some alcohol at the end, long aftertaste. Full mouthfeel. Overall a very solid imperial stout.

Pour to snifter. Black with brown head. Complex palate: Light and heavy simultaneously, smooth for high ABV. Complex flavor: chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, black molasses, and more. Just a damn good beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer poured thick and dark. A good size dark brown head, that disappeared and left a little lacing. Tastes of dark blend coffee, molasses, chocolate and sweet malt with a strong alcohol presence dominate. Excellent

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma started light (the beer was on the cold side) with notes of creamy chocolate and roasted malt with light coffee notes and a touch of ash in the background. As the beer warmed the chocolate got more of a mild chocolate smell to it and even a little fruitiness. The flavor was huge like a nice smack in the mouth. Big roasted malt and dark bitter chocolate.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Oily black with thick brown film floating on top. Drool inducing aroma, heavy chocolate, burnt sugar, smokey ash. Taste is wicked, smokey burnt sugar, chocolate, sweetness, FLAVOUR!!!!!!! There is so much going on here!!! Possible strawberry, molasses, and even more STUFF and THANGS!! Roasted every thing, and so very thick and chewy. Coffee flirts in the flavour but never comes to the front. Aftertaste lingers forever. Beer has no faults and is way to drinkable for 10.5%.

Once again as the beer warmed it turned to more of a milk chocolate.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is a subdued dark roasted malt, dark fruit, and hints of coffee. I canít smell much else. But what this beer lacks in aroma, it makes up in flavor. A cascade of coffee, raisins, figs, burnt toast, chocolate, and hints of caramel. Palate is a full bodied and long roasted finishing mouth full. Mouthfeel is bready and a little slick. I donít like any canned beers. When Bellís put two hearted on cans, I did not like it as much as bottles. I understand that Oskar Blues only does cans, but man this is one of the best Imperial stouts Iíve ever had and the fact that itís in a can amazes me. A must pick up if itís available to you.
