Can from BrewDog Camden. Number 1700! Pours pitch black with a two finger, thick and dense creamy tan head. Lacing left is exquisite. Nose shows heavy roast and molasses with light cocoa and vanilla. Taste is very milk chocolatey with heavy cream and vanilla without being too sweet. Light roast and liquorice come through as it warms. Wow. ABV doesn’t come through at all. Creamy mouth feel with balanced sweetness and light bitterness on the finish. Fantastic beer with an unbelievable mouth feel

On tap at platypus pub. So black! Tight bubbly light brown cap, reduces to solid cover and pocketed lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee (espresso), wood, nuts, raisin. Taste is chocolate, smoked candied salmon, coffee. Very good.

Black with whitish head. Aroma is sweet malts and soy sauce. Taste comes together best as it warms - sweetness and roast combine to bring an oily quality. Overall, a good approachable imp stout, though not super big and thick.

Can, thanks Mike. Black with tidy tan head. Nice roasty aroma woth licorice, coffee, vanilla, ovaltine and chocolate. Similar taste, nicely balanced flavours. Thick and creamy texture with a bitter finish. This beer doesnt slap you in the face. It’s perfectly balanced in every way and the palate is spot on. A faultless beer which I guess is it’s strong point. Enjoying it more and more as I drink it.Score started at 4.0, finished glass at 4.6

Normally Not a fan of stouts but this one is one of the best. Very chocolatey and coffee flavored. Smells delicious. Pours really dark. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kick ass imperial stout. The can is so unassuming, but the second you pour it into a glass... Chocolate, coffee, booze... all the flavors you want in an imperial stout. Excellent.

Draught. This is a great beast of a beer. Thick and roasty with a big hop flavor to counter balance. Great impy. Worth the $ for a special celebration.

A- thick pour with a healthy deep tan head one finger thick. Decent lacing. S- toasted malts, molasses, dry earth, chalk, tangy cacao, toffee, licorice, marshmallows, Nutella, leather, grainy dog food, raisins and pungent prunes. M- healthy heavy body and palate, with a good carbonation as well. Syrupy and sticky. T- taste is very pleasant, starting with raw cacao, chocolate, earthiness, toffee and roasted malts. Strong symphony of licorice, marshmallows, more chocolate, vanilla, and rich dark fruits. Ending is a casual decline of chocolate, toffee, and burnt sugar. Relatively standard aromas and tastes, but a very well handled beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
