4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
What a gorgeous mother of a beer! Deep black hole dark - light has no hope of passing throught this beer. I’ve never imagined a beer that thick and dark. Nice dark tan head with a little lace, doesn’t last.
Aroma is of bright dark chocolate, dark coffee beans, cooked sweet fruit - apple maybe?, and nice roasty goodness. Mouthfeel is as you would expect - syrupy thick - with velvety soft carbonation.
Starts light - tate doesn’t show up until the middle of the tongue. Starts with dark chocolate, carbon, licorice, maybe a hint of vanilla, deep woodsiness. Develops more into dark burnt roast - tastes like a campfire - in a good way. Alcohol is warming, but not overdone. An overlying sweetness doen’s compete with the bitterness but keeps it from being unpleasant. Kind of a meatiness in the end, crips bitterness lasts in the end.
What a glorious beer. I will dream of this, and I may write a song about it.

On tap at whole foods. Poured a full pint ( thank you ) for $4! Nice rich black pour with medium, tight, light brown head. Aroma is black licorice, roasted malt and alcohol. Flavor is nice and rich without being too sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth and drinkable. Taste of a nice original imp stout without coffee or chocolate added.

Pours thick and black. Very faint aroma. Hits all the roasted and chocolate flavor notes you’d expect. Not at all boozy given the 10.5%.

Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Finally I caught the legendary Ten Fidy, it was bound to be a let down. It’s a solid ris with some coffee. I understand why a lot of people like it, but it’s just too decent and middle of the road to be really great.
