4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 edmajorjoe (80) - Vail, USA - DEC 13, 2008
Sonoran is a maple flavor smelling and tasting brew. It is a great beer that needs to be sipped and eaten with pancakes. Beware this is intended for the real beer drinkers.

Thanks to Nate for this awesome brew, bottle 862/1000... awesome bottle but the beer is just ugly dark dirty toilet water... the nose is all brown sugar with bourbon and rubber tire finish, as bad as it is, its really not that bad, this is what a BA4d would smell like aged in a tire... this burns my lips as it hits them this is hot, tastes almost as bad a BA 1000 IBU, rubber, alcohol, salty, just terrible I can’t drink this

6th June 2009 Cloudy dark brown beer. Odd nose of chicory barbeque. Medium palate, slighty dry. Almost no carbonation. The odd nose carries over to the flavour. Barbeque chicory! Underneath is a little sour malt. A little brandy. Ah the joy of beer! Who woulda thought that such a strong beer could taste so left field? Hides it’s abv extraodinarily well. Shared again at ChrisOs per GBBF gathering 2010. The chicory has faded a lot revealing a richer malt. Still has a slightly weird edge though.

Tepid muddy water pour, no head. Nose of heavy caramel and malt, pepper and bread crust. Flavor is tea leaves, caramel, maple, and earth, bit smokey. Syrupy with a long woody maple finish. I have a soft spot for these sweet, high gravity dessert beers.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 EricE (1288) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - DEC 14, 2010
Really thick opaque brown pour. Maple syrup and molasses aroma. Lots of roasted malt and some herbal notes. Maple syrup flavor. Not really too sweet but incredibly heavy. Sherry notes with chocolate and coffee. Meh.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 womencantsail (3929) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - DEC 1, 2010
A: The pour is a flat, dark amber color with no head at all (not surprising given that it’s still).
S: This beer smells like a smorgasbord of various wastes and landfill odors. Let’s pick out a few...tires, burnt rubber, sawdust, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoke, and bacon.
T: The nose was nowhere near enough punishment, so I moved on to drinking the beer. Let’s just say it’s not an improvement. Maple syrup, bacon, booze, rubber, and salt. The finish is cloyingly sweet, too.
M: The body, well, it’s sort of syrupy and the complete lack of carbonation doesn’t do this one any favors.
D: This beer is a serious test of your gag reflex. I found myself asking "why?" while tasting it...just because you can, it doesn’t mean you should.
