Into a snifter. Ruby colored with a two solid fingers of head. Smells like cider vinegar, cherry and pear. Fruity taste: cherry and pear again. A little malty sweet at the end with some lemon. Champagne texture, lots of bubbles but not overly carbonated. Light body. The vinegar smell actually fit well and thankfully didn’t transfer into the taste. Top shelf here. An excellent all-around drink.

Pours a dark ruby-brown from a bottle, lots of immediate Belgian effervescence that quickly fades. Aroma is a pleasant sweet-sour, almost like a Balsamic vinegar. Flavor is a a super version of the same, again Balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, red wine and a hint of leather and licorice perhaps, perfectly balanced. Slight burn on the finish, but not overly powerful alcohol flavor. Excellent beer.

Wife ordered this draft at Roasthouse Pub in Frederick, MD. Served in a rocks glass, reddish brown color with minimal white lacing. Aroma of balsamic vinegar, some apple/cherry tart and faint oak. Taste is much sweeter then aroma led on, more berry fruitiness and light caramel. Light-medium body, low carbonation, slick with dry sour fruity finish. Very nice sweeter fruity sour.

Very nice. Strong aroma of tart fruit and oak with a mustiness. Beautiful burgundy color with a thin head. Full and smooth mouthfeel. It coats the tongue. Upfront tart and sweet blend with some dryness at the finish. More oak and a little funk. Complex and blended well.

Bottle. Near room temp. Rich brown red color, good carbonation, some white head and lacing. Great sweet and sour balsamic taste and palate, full bodied but light and crisp due to the good fizz. Maybe a bit too sweet. Very nice Flanders red.

overall not a super one, i’ll stick to the original which is copied by Verhaeghe, give me a Rodenbach any day. Weird to me how this gets so many points, if you ever drank the original you just wouldn’t go near this one

Looks rusty brown coming out of the bottle, but emerges in glass as a beautiful red with orange highlights. Thick mocha head retains a bit too well, suppressing aroma, but underneath it is balsamic vinegar and berries. On the palate, it’s a raspberry vinaigrette drizzled over cranberries, field greens and pickled fruit and vegetables. Fizzy, sour, smooth and very refreshing.

Bottle from Total Wine -- #500 on my list. Pours reddish brown with a large, soapy head. Aroma and taste of balsamic vinegar. Others say sour apple, tart cherry, and cranberries, but I basically get balsamic vinegar. Not really for me.

Pours red brown with foamy head. Smells of tart cherry. Cranberry taste with very slight oak finish. Crisp! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
