poured from 11.2oz "mini" bottle - What can I say to do this beer justice? It is f’n fantastic on all appreciable levels. The sour apple and plum; the rich mahogany hues; the biting sour finish. This is the real deal of sours right here. This Duchesse imparts a smooth, lactose creaminess paired with a welcomed sourness. It really is one of the best of its kind.

A bit too sour for my taste. This is a heavy beer and has more similarities with vinegar rather than a beer itself. Nevertheless it suits the taste for those who are looking for a sour beer with a strong taste.

Wow, this is fantastic. I have had Sours before but nothing like this. Gorgeous ruby, glowing dark umber with a quickly vamoosing beige head. Huge red wine notes, cherries, leather, dank, fruitcake and wood. The taste is very tart, a punky sour bite but also quite sweet. This sour babe leaves a faint red wine taste but with lots of other flavours balancing it out. Mid-high carbonation and a nice dry finish that has some slick, sweet tongue coating at the same time. Much depth to this one. A gem of a beer!

Bottle given to me by my parents for a birthday gift. Thanks. A: Dark maroon with an outline of red when held to the light. Fluffy and lively off-white head. Some lacing; mostly slides off the glass. N: Cherry, vinegar, acetone, leather, tobacco, and black pepper. Some funkiness round the outside, and wood. Some currant jam and cabernet sauvignon grape. Red wine elements in spades. This is a surprisingly deep nose when you dig into it. T: Sweet as always, with a tartness taking a spot every once in awhile - like a slightly soured grape juice. M: Almost crunchy. Lively carbonation, lighter body. No alcohol, of course. O: This one surprises me as I’ve always thought it a bit too sweet and not particularly complex. I see I was wrong. Duchesse de Bourgogne is easy to drink, and it’s much lighter fare than say, Rodenbach GC, though it has a number of the same elements. I think I’d take regular Rodenbach first and foremost, but you sure can’t shake a stick at something this easy to enjoy.

Reddish brown with a good pale head. Aroma is balsamic vinegar, red wine, berry jam, raisins, overripe strawberries. Medium bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel, sweet & sour on the palate. Taste is berry jam, balsamic reduction, fig, ripe strawberries, BBQ sauce. Yummy

Aroma is amazing, winous, vanilla, red berries, cherry, rasperries, strawberries, oak, with a barnyard-y funk to it. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with an amazingly complex flavor. Its sour with slightly acetic notes. Flavors are all over the place with sour cherries, red fruits, with an oily, dry finish.

Bottle in Delirium bar, Brussels. Lovely sour belgian beer, this has ripples of a sweet and sour cherry undertone, absolutley deliciious, recommended

Deep red/brown color, big tan head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is full of sour cherries, wine like character and malt. Taste is medium sweet and medium sour. Very pleasant. Body is medium and carbonation is average. Enjoyable sour ale.
