4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Mortlach (342) - Rome, ITALY - FEB 8, 2012
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Rasmus40 (3011) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2012
Clear dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, dried fruit and yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish. with a little warming alcohol. Extremely smooth, soft and full bodied. Hides the ABV very well. 050212
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 toxichop (37) - South Gate, California, USA - JAN 31, 2012
This Pannepot beers are just one reason why I love quads. A: Well I must say this looks alot like a soda maybe cherry coke? With a small white head. S: Dark cherries, cinnamon, oak, and some dark dried fruits, this one is complex. T: Starts of with some dark fruits, cinnamon and oak but moves on to more candi sugars with peppermint spice and a caramel malt finish. M: The mouthfell was more creamy then expected, very nice. O: A complex beer here, that was damn good, the oak barrels change the beer where there is no alcohol anymore and the spices are more upfront then in the regular pannepot. However I enjoyed the regular pannepot more but all of them are damn good.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Slipstream (1463) - USA - JAN 31, 2012
Top 1%? 4.14 rating? For this stuff? Am I missing something here? It is a nicely balanced Belgian ale, with flavors of brown sugar, oak, coffee, and cola, and a bland aroma. This reserva is not in the same league as regular Pannepot - but apparently it is a barrel-aged version of that beer, so maybe something wasn’t right here. A pretty average abbey ale, imo. I would like to try it again, but at $13 a bottle, I probably won’t be picking up more any time soon. Another tip of the hat to Adrian! (2008 bottle)

2008 bottle. Amber pour. Very strong aroma of spicy dried fruit. This would go great with a nice fruitcake. Taste is sweet, oaky, and vinous.

2009 bottle. Pours a dark brown color with red hues and a thick fizzy cola head. Nose is oak, raisins, dark figs, cherries, and a dark sticky malt note. Palate is thick and chewy, light cola fizz, lots of sticky palate residue on the tongue and molars. Flavors of cherries, light alcohol, grapes, hints of wood

Dark red-brown, almost purple. Smells like pie spices, vanilla, and stone fruit. Taste gets banana involved on top of the fruit, but the feeling is just the greatest. Smooth, full, and creamy.
