COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ready to buck convention? We took the traditional IPA, originally shipped from Englad to India in the 1700s, and made it bolder and more flavorful - American style. We've added new varieties of highly aromatic American hops to create a distinctive bitterness profile and an incredible hop character. Hop on, hold tight, and enjoy the ride!

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Color was orange with a white head. The smell was danky, resinous, and slightly pine. The smell is seriously hoppy. The taste was identical to the smell. Straight hop oils. Not much citrus, mostly dank. I was really surprised by this. this might be my new favorite from Colorado. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-16-2007 16:39:51

Strong aroma of citrusy hops. Smells malty but really isn’t in the flavor. Smooth and mildly coating when it goes down. Can’t taste the 7% at all. Really nice IPA, can’t believe it took me so long to try this one.

Bottle. Pours golden/amber with little white head. Aroma of pine and citrus, orange. Taste has pine and orange, little grapefruit and caramel. Smooth with a bitter finish. Fairly solid ipa, lacks a bit of distinctive character but good all round

12oz. bottle. The date on the bottle shows 9/14/2011. It’s hazy and orange (my favorite color). The head is small and slightly gray. Nose : it’s an impact of strong grapefruit and pine hops with tart background. The fruitiness is more complex then just grapefruit, it’s citrus zesty with some banana ... anyway, let’s take a sip. Sip : It’s medium body is oily and creamy. Little carbonation. It’s malts tastes like citron tart with gingerbread feeling. Roasted. Balanced with fruity and bitter hops. Great stuff. Full aromatic but still balanced.

This is a Solid IPA. Very light in color and easy to drink. I would consider the a Light IPA.

Pours cloudy slightly red. Malts come through more than I like in an IPA. Good though.

Aroma is infused with Simcoe, so hits all the right citrus notes you would expect from an American IPA. Light carbonation pushes the citrus through with resinous notes. Surprisingly sweet finish, and could probably manage more alcohol as a result. Good example of the genus.

A nice looking dark orange beer, with a thin off white head, Big hoppy nose of citrus, honey and malt. Tastes balanced, bitter, spicy, citrus, pine and resin with malt in the background a really good IPA!

Originally reviewed: 11/15/10. 12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Best by date "1/5/11" stamped on the side. Pours a chill hazy dark orange with a thin beige head on top. Light sticky lace left behind. Nose is full of fresh citrus, booze, candy, and honey. Very sweet and potent. Full creamy mouth. Carbonation level is decent; not spritzy or tame. Full onslaught of boozy goodness here. The ABV is well-noted and received. Big citrus flavors wash over the palate. Melds well with the alcohol and subtle fruity sweetness. This was a good IPA. Not the standard, and not the most accessible, but a treat nonetheless. Glad I had the chance.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2012 Aroma: sweet malt, pine, and an unfortunate bit of skunk-funk. Bottle is dated fresh, so I am assuming this is typical. Small head pour - just a smidgen of lacing. Flavor is exactly like the smell - sweet malt, pine, and an unfortunate bit of skunk-funk. Has its moments - not overly piney like Ranger, not thin and bland like Latitude 48, and isn’t watery or tepid as Lakefront or O’Fallon, but that Abita Jockamo-like skunk-funk takes it down quite a bit for me. I will say that letting this sit in the fridge for several days lessens the skunk impact, so try that.

Tap - big thick head, medium gold color, very nice big citrus/grapefruit hop aroma and flavor with a mild malt backbone - very good IPA
