FINALLY GOT AROUND TO THIS! Is this three years old now? Honestly can’t remember. Definitely one of the only beers I’ve ever purchased in a tube. Pours jet black with a beautiful tanned head, plenty of carbonation left to produce a nice lacing around the glass. Nose is dark malty sweet, with hints of sweet coffee, burnt licorice, and powdery cocoa. Flavor now that it’s 3+ years aged is smooth! Super smooth. Velvety even. Hints of vanilla and milk chocolate at first, transmuting into a blissful roasted mocha blend, warming your entire body as it heads it’s way to the stomach. Dark plums and cherries are lost in there somewhere. You can feel the 16%, but you cannot taste it...incredible! Cocoa and velvety coffee finish. One damn good beer, wish I’d kept a few more lying around!

bottled. viscous and tarry, deep shade of black with a decent dark brown head; aroma of port and roasted plums with some old capuccino and brandy butter; at first a bit of briney saltiness hits and then it’s a sweet and mellow ride with hints of burnt sherbet, liquorice, prunes and plenty of burnt bitterness; a mish-mash of flavours that lingers and lingers; big and beautiful

50 cl bottle @ ISKTR. Rated on 20.03.2011
Aroma is rather rich with licorice, some raisins, coffee and hints of alcohol. Flavour has licorice, coffee, some chocolate and warming alcohol. Feels a lot like a liqueor. Good and unique stuff, usually I do not love beers with very high ABV this much.

Bottle shared by Drew. Thanks man! Pours a rich inky thicker black hue. Near opaque, the beer has legs, a good solid brown head dies to small ring, laces ok overall. Near opaque, some faint brown on the edges. Aromas are rich and cocoa, toffee, and caramel. Roast, toast, biscuits. A rich coffee, vanilla, creaminess. German chocolate cake, sweetness, roast. For such a high ABV, the beer doesn’t smell it. Initial is full bodied, offering a good deal of cocoa, roast, and a blast of dark fruit. Some thickness, sweetness, and some decent roast comes into the fold. Full bodied yet not really hot, the backend throws lingering molasses, sweetness, big thick malts and roast/ash lingering into the finish. Thick and inviting with some distinct flavors, dark fruit and sweeter coffee, roasty malts and chocolate. Finish is roasty and sweet, battling well, a light touch of heat (but nowhere near you’d expect such a high ABV beer to be). A touch of smoke and vanilla, faint oak. Almost gives a touch of barrel though it wasn’t. Really, this big ominous beer has been treated very well with age. A winner.

bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94, thank you so much for this one! had a crack on the glass on the neck, but it doesnt seem to have effected anything. wonderful carbonation on this beast, pitch black with dark brown head and nice lacing. the aroma and taste arte both very complex and yet very smooth. smoke, whickey, vanilla, roast, dark fruits, chocolate, mollasses, and much more. huge but very smooth body on it, it drinks really wonderfully. not at all cloying like the newer versions tend to be, this is a real beauty of an imperial stout. worthy.

Bottle number 4414, opened for christmas in Finland. Black body, tiny dark brown head. The aroma is of coffee, espresso, malt, and a complex oak note. Taste oak as well, coffee, almost no alcohol but a looooong finish which others only can try to imitate.
