Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Bottle 33 cl. Poured dark amber in colour with a massive slightly tanned thick and creamy head. Sweet, lots of piney notes, grassy hops and some tropical flowers in aroma. Very pleasant so far. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Flavour grassy and malty mixed quite strong pine and grapefruit taste. Easy to drink and no sign of the abv. Nice grassy aftertaste with a hint of tropical sweet fruityness. Highly enjoyable brew.

Appearance: clear deep amber with two fingers of rocky light tan head, excellent retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: big pine, caramel malt, tropical fruit, citrus. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (6/10) Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (3/5) Not one of Mikkeller’s best. Really, a fairly pedestrian A/IPA with D/IPA leanings - but one of those D/IPA’s that’s malt emphatic. Not malt forward, maybe, but the malt definitely vies with the hops for dominance. OK. (13/20)

16oz can. Deep honey-gold pour, hazy, massive off-white head with ridiculous retention. Nose is pine, some hints of tropical fruit (bit of pineapple, mango), some biscuity malt, dry leaves. Mouth is medium-full, more dry than sweet, fair degree of bitterness throughout, some oaky tanniny thing going on with the palate, grapefruit, ash, soap, toasted malt near the finish. Solid.

Dracks hemma i soffan.

Tap at Hathor. This was the end of the keg. Very cloudy and yeasty. Super cloudy brown-orange color with lace. Very piny, resiny nose with biscuity malt. Balanced flavor, pine, biscuit, caramel, grapefruit. Not all that bitter for the ibus. Smooth and full.
