I am a little wasted and I only smell some bourbon and chocolate. Dark pour from a tap with some brownish beige head. Not too much much head.
I love the fact that it is bourbon aged, makes the beer that much better. Let it rest on your pallete and you will be introduced to various flavors. Predominantly chocolate.

Bottled graciously shared by krompt. This was an epic night of tasting amazing rare beers and changing diapers because that is how we roll. The combination of this treat with my now favorite episode of the Eric Andre show was earth shattering (inside joke). Good stout flavors I enjoy from the base with a strong of bourbon but I agreed with krompt that it was a little thin to be outstanding. Would snatch up this gravy if I ever saw it again!

500ml bottle from Tosa Wine cellar aged 3 months at cellar temperature - shared for Thousandth Night with ck1 and Jan, in "Rasputin Jan"ís honor. Number 1000, and it has been quite a tour! Pours a very, very dark brown with a tan head leaving streaks of lace. Aroma has vanilla and bourbon ... and then roasty chocolate, raisins, and caramel. Taste is of bakers chocolate, vanilla, roasty malts and cocoa nibs. Medium to full bodied and super smooth, with some alcohol burn. Finishes smoothly bittersweet and long with alcohol. The barrel aging is an excellent addition to a very strong base beer! (possibly over-exuberant for the 1000? not sure but very, very enjoyable ...)

I never see anything about cost on this site, so Iíll be the resident cheapskate. Prices vary by location, but in St. Louis, this beer costs $20 for a 16.9 oz bottle. Impulse purchase, instant buyers remorse. At this price, the stuff better be mind blowing. Pours out thinner than expected, very dark brown rather than black with copious amounts of tan foam and heavy lacing. Aroma is vinegar, alcohol, hops, stainless steel - not overly complex on the aroma. Does not look or smell particularly expensive. The taste was smooth, almost refreshing with hop bitterness at the end - very drinkable for 11.5%. This is a big stout that can be enjoyed in the warmer months. The palate is interesting; velvety without being thick. I would have preferred thicker, but this way is more unique. Very interesting take on the Russian Imperial Stout style; I have never had one like this. At this price I will never buy it again, but it is a great beer and I am more educated about beer for trying it.

A little thin for my taste. Very good. If you are a fan of balance, this is your beer. If it were a little more chewy, it might be one of my all time favorites.

On tap at Harryís Hofbrau. This is the OR XV. Massively complex chocolate and vanilla backing, with a moderate roast. Full malty chewiness. Taste is similar to aroma. Black with deep brown head.
