COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seems hard to believe that we’ve been making Old Rasputin for 10 years now, but that’s what’s happened. And, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve brewed a special small batch that’s been aged for 9 months in some 12 year-old bourbon barrels. It’s bottled in 500 ml bottles with a cork and wired finish and a special commemorative label ---- and it’s amazing. The depth, intensity and complexity of the flavor profile make it a worthy tribute to this fine beer.

Bottle of Rasputin XII. Pours pretty dark but not as much as i would have thought. Very creamy tan head. Looks amazing. Sweet aroma with very strong notes of bourbon, licorice, and maybe some molasses. WOW...so many different flavors going on with such an incredible smooth mouthfeel. subtle bourbon, dark fruit, butterscotch notes and the finish is a little chocolatety. Incredible beer well worth aging.

Purs pitch black. Aroma of sweet bourbon, coffee and liquorice. Taste of coconut(!), mild bourbon, roasted barley, coffee and dark and dry chocolate. Super-smooth but at the same time challenging. One of the best beers out there - ever! Will prolly age well.

Black-brown pour with huge mocha head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of oak, light bourbon, coconut, molasses, brown sugar, mild dark fruit, and a little booze. Pretty sugary. Flavor is roasted malt, oak and tannin, coconut, and bourbon. A little woody. Medium-full body. Pretty refined overall. A touch choppy, but should age well.

XIV Anniversary bottle. Black with a creamy light brown head leaving some lacing. Aroma: chocolate liqueur, toffee and vanilla, bourbon. Taste: sweet toffee, licorice, chocolate, bourbon, some coffee, light roasted bitterness, warming alcohol. Full-bodied. Awesome, should have had a few bottles for the cellar.

Half liter bottle. Pours black with surprisingly thick tan head that retains. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, oak, and dark fruit. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. Very nice and worth a try, though it’s definitely overpriced.

Aroma- massive bourbon notes, dark fruits, slight chocolate Appearance- pitch black with brown hues, darker khaki head Taste- bourbon upfront makes this brew very sweet throughout, dark fruits, roasted notes, booze heat, more bourbon to round it out Palate- very-full bodied, sipper Overall- Fairly one-dimensional but good nevertheless. The bourbon is overwhelmingly sweet and sort of dominates everything else going on here. Also, this beer is still a little hot and could do with some more time in the cellar. Good, but not great.

Bottle. Pours black wíth a huge chcolate brown head. Nice chcolate and bourbon aroma. Nice brew with taste of licorice, chcolate, rosted malt and burboun. However a bit to sharp boozyness to get a 4(+) from me.

Rating Old Rasputin XIV. Pours with a five finger dark khaki head that fades to thin layer, leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Bourbon nose and flavor is sweet bourbon with hints of alcohol. Decent RIS. Way overpriced at $22.99 for a caged and corked 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, Vt.
