Big thanks to Brigadier for this trade. Effervescent gold pour with a large foamy white head. Aroma has great travel, citrus and dry champagne. Fruity flavor, peachy more than anything else, balanced by an overall dryness. Lemon, clove, and wild yeast creaminess play supporting roles. Worty wheat character comes through on the finish. Very active, lightly astringent palate. Excellent Orvallish golden ale, slightly less complex in its fruit character than the original, but very much a pleasure.

Bottle from Smiling Chameleon. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Sour hoppy funk on the nose. Tart on the tongue with some citrus notes. Has some hop flavor on the finish. Very nice!

Bottle batch E!043 pours a hazy pale golden straw with thick foamy head. Aroma is very fruity light fruits sweet banana. Flavor is light and bubbly definitely a Belgian with interesting wheat character, lightly acidic with a subtle funk. Overall this was a good but at ~10 bucks so good I bought two so I can let one sit for a little while and retry.

This beer pours perfectly. Straw color, lemon yellow, sun kissed gold with a white head of foam that fell fast to a thick cap. Great lace. It had a bouquet that filled the nose. Traditional Belgian nose. Yeasty, barnyard, horse blanket, musty, pepper, and ripe fruit. Apples and white grapes with a touch of lemon, & caramel malt. What was missing, if you want to think that it was missing, was bubblegum and banana. No alcohol on the palate either. This drank well. it was dry, crisp and the ripe fruit washed over the palate juicy and a little tart. It drank like dry white wine. Earthy and bright. The malt stood up in the glass and was not weak. The beer had a fine balance. Prickly carbonation so it wasn’t soft but the mouthfeel was pretty good. It’s traditional Belgian. Refreshing and lively.

Bought from Leary’s just moments ago for $10 exactly. 750 mL bottle. To undersized snifter, it pours a hazy dark orange: explosive white head... fuckin’ two to three fingers in length. Came out of nowhere (insert bad sex joke here) Soapy, sudsy, and credibly webbed. Aromas of wheat bread, spicy yeasts, cranberries, poppy seeds, white sage, and papayas. Tastes the same. Ripe, fruity tartness by swallow. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Slightly hazy amber in color. Pours with half inch head good lacing. Nondescript smell. Strong taste of citrus which lasts throughout. Aftertaste is not bitter. Average drink-ability. Slightly on the heavy side for the beer type. Surprisingly high abc of eight percent

Paid $9.99 for a 750 ml bottle from Super Kappy’s. Batch E040. Tulip glass a nice hazy gold with thick foamy head. Strong retention. Nose is yeast, hay and candy sugar. Flavor has doughy Belgian yeast up front, followed by lemons and finishing with a spicy hop. Light tartness with some alcohol showing itself. Medium body and sweet. Lively carbonation dances over my tongue giving a champagne quality. Overall, this brewery did a fine job with creating a Belgian inspired ale.

750 mL bottle from NIkki’s Liquors, Providence. Pours a hazy straw color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of tart fruits, wheat, bready malts and a bit of spice. The taste is wheat, stone fruits, spice, raisins. Quite tart overall. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Interesting beer.

This is excellent. Reminds me of Chouffe Houbleron. A hoppy, citrusy floral pile of aromas. All kinds of stuff going on here, so much it numbs my drunken tongue. Cloudy blond with pretty good lacing. Really tastes like some kind of Belgia/ipa hybrid, and pulls it off well. Awesome. Always a good idea to come to the Blue Monk. On tap.
