COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Had this from the bottle, nice lacing, and is a nice amber color. Nice grassy hops taste.

Poured from a bottle into a goblet. Golden, amber color. Well carbonated. Two fingers of head on the pour take a long time to dissipate. Lots of lace up the side. Very complex aroma, with floral, hoppy and licorice notes. Caramel malt also comes through. Very strong, alcohol taste, with well-balanced bitterness and sweetness. Finishes bitter. Lots of body and lingers in the mouth for some time. Overall, an enjoyable beer.

bottle - Pours hazy orange with a one finger light tan head. The aroma is big on the citrus hops. The flavor is full of crisp, bitter citrus hops with a little herbal note. It’s medium bodied and quite good though not my favorite among beers of the style.

A worthy dipa indeed, a heck of a pour, huge fluff, and all hops, heavy on the front and back end, balanced nicely with a fruity/piney flavor that offsets the hoppiness almost perfectly. My first from this brewery and leaves me wanting to try others.

Bottle shared with quiznoaz in KC - same stuff quiznoaz wrote, wish it didn’t have the sweet caramel edge - could have been massive, not just huge.

Dark golden pour, cloudy, good head. Bright, sweet citrus aroma, reminds me of Tang. Lots of grapefruit, but not overwhelmingly bitter. You could drink this for breakfast.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2012 A sinister looking beer that’s dark orange with custard like head and lacing. Very hoppy citrus aroma. Heavy taste of sweet grapefruit and an extremely bitter, dry finish. Hard to gauge the body since it’s such a palate stripper. Intense standout amongst a style not known for subtly

[Bottle] Pours deep, slightly hazy red with a nice off-white head. Aroma is okay, but subdued--alcohol and orange mainly. Taste is quite disappointing, with a huge amount of sweetness, mild bitterness....just really syrupy with the citrus taking a back seat and some peach mixed in. After letting it sit for awhile, it really changes, with huge strawberry jam character coming out. Better, but not what I was expecting. Full mouthfeel, finish length is average. Overall, I love Boulevard, but this was syrupy and not what I had hoped for. This thing needs to be dried out.
