Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2011. Dark brown beer with almost no head. Licorice, tar, vanilla, dark cocolate and bourbon aroma. Licorice, vanilla, caramell, dark chocolate, bourbon and raisins flavour. I love this kind of beers :-)

Sludgy brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of toffee, oak and vanilla. Thin body, but to be expected for a barrel aged beer. It does howerver borderline medium bodied. Taste is full of vanilla, oak & toffee. Sweet finish. Vanilla & bourbon really dominate here. Tons of toffee, vanilla and oak as it warms. Alcohol is very well hidden. No lace.

37cl bottle. Dark caramel brown pour with a thin tan head that disappears almost instantly. The smell is dominated by notes of Heaven Hill whiskey, caramel, together with nuts, raisins, red wine barrel, a bit of smoke and vanilla. The taste is sweet and just a bit bitter, with caramel, maple syrup, apple brandy and bourbon, toffee and molasses. Full body, medium to low carbonation with a sticky sweet and alcohol heavy finish.

375ml bottle. Dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is boozy, fruity, brown sugar, Christmas cake. Same kind of taste, thick and rich with dark fruits and brown sugar. Nice stuff but I was expecting much more from it.

37,5cl bottle at home. Very dark brown colour, brown foamy head that leaves a nice lacing. Big vanilla-bourbon, milky coffee, milky chocolate, butterscotch, caramel, bourbon-y alcoholic warmth in the finish, pleasantly bitter. Aftertaste keeps on building bourbon-y coffee notes, great! Big body, velvety (!) soft, perfectly balanced, low carbonation.

Piana jasno be?owa, niewielka i niezbyt trwa?a. Smak s?odki zdominowany przez karmel, melano i chleb, wsparte przez alkohol i mnóstwo wanilii oraz kolosa. Pycha. Kr?g?a do tegoej pe?nia, umiarkowane wysycenie oraz lekko kwaskowy, waniliowy i alkoholowy finisz. G?sta i oleista konsystencja. Drogie to, jak czort, ale warte ceny mój top 10, mo?e nawet 5.

12.7 oz bottle thanks to Homer’s FBW contest. The bottling date looks like it might be 2013, but it’s a bit hard to read. Aroma is burnt caramel, coconut, chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, booze, wood. Pours muddy brown with a tiny beige head that falls immediately into a thin collar. Taste is sweet, alcoholic, a bit oxidized with sherry notes. Carbonation is very light, mouthfeel syrupy. Masterful, but a tad harsh. I would appreciate more carbonation.

Coffee brown.. sticky tan head with good lacing that lasts for the entire glass.. Aroma is caramel, rum, and more than enough raisin.. Fair amount of alcohol as it hits room temp and only then does the wood and bourbon raise its head. Flavor mirrors aroma but with pronounced vanilla.. some chocolate and the perfect amount of bourbon. body is thick and smooth at the same time.. the excessive carbonation goes away by the end of the glass. Very very rich and with a sturdy complexity.

dark brown colour, one inch of stable, creamy beige head; aroma of whisky, herbal liqueur, vanilla, caramel, biscuit, dried plum and figs, some raisins, oak barrel and cherry bonbon chocolate dessert; taste of dried plum and cherry, caramel, vanilla, whisky, dark chocolate and herbal notes; It’s a miracle! Be careful with it!

never drunk much barley wine before, didnt think it was my thing. these two were some next level shit tho. had this one first i believe. pours inky ruby colour, soft fizz, hardly any head. aroma of bourbon, chocolate, liquorice. so inviting. tasted of marzipan, chocolate icing, butterscotch, sherry trifle, woody hints rounding it off. malty and boozy as fuck, very little hoppiness. totally amazing. one of the best beers ive drunk. cheers again ben
