(Bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 15 2014) Pours slightly murky dark mahogany with a tiny off white ring of bubbles. Aroma dominated by that Heaven Hill bourbon barrel with its oak, moderate char, toasted coconut, vanilla, and the whiskey itself. Behind that there is sweet dark toffee malt with a touch of dried dark fruit (date, fig?) - malts are quite robust to hold all that barrel but don’t lead. On the palate, elegant with the fairly rich malt core of toffee, caramel, stewed dark fruit playing support to the barrel again. Lots of oak and bourbon throughout the palate, char is light, coconut notes quite prominent Finish is pretty long but smooth with almost no alcohol character, just bourbon barrel flavours and malts. Fairly full oily body with very little carb. Barrel to the fore, sure, but this beer is so easy to sip and not brash or boozy. Like the most drinkable bourbon ever.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep nut brown color with a thin medium brown head. Aroma is a huge matls, vanilla, light bourbon. Flavor is big, creamy, malty sweet, lots of bourbon and vanilla, phenomenal. Medium to heavy creamy body with a long lingering creamy vanilla and bourbon. Absolutely wonderful!

375ml bottle, 2013 vintage. Wonderful aroma consisting of vanilla, oak, caramel and just the slightest hint of booze. Pours extremely dark brown with a reddish hue to it and a very thin light tan head with no lacing. Starts with sweet caramel and oak. Finishes extremely smooth with a lot of vanilla and more wood. Rich, full bodied beer that is extraordinarily smooth. An excellent, well-balanced bourbon ale that highlights the barrels used. Simply amazing!

2008 vintage bottle pour split along side with the current Angels Share. Thanks again T for making this happen. Pours black with a thin tan head that will stick around. Sweet graham cracker, marshmallow like aroma. Super sweet flavor. Very smooth flavor all the way through. Just a solid, heavy big league beer all around. Really enjoy the Angels share beers, and actually liked this one a little better than the regular. Great stuff.

Bottle. Ahhhhh….! This is a beauty in every thinkable way. Pours dark with a red hue and with no head at all. Fabulous aroma with sweet prunes, dark fruits, molasses and oak, as well as chocolate and some pleasant whiffs of liquorice and alcohol. Body is oily, soft and velvety without carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts and caramel, as well as liquorice, coffee and chocolate and nice sweet barrels of oak with vanilla and molasses making for an excellently sweetly balanced finish sticking forever. What an exceptional brew!
