OMG! It is incredible. I aged it 4 years in my cellar. It has a nice bourbon red wine flavor with vanilla and oak.

Poured into a tall tulip glass and head barely any head that disappeared immediately. Had a dark red to brown color. Great in the nose sweetness and bourbon. Hints of dark malts with an aggressive boozy dry finish that is almost creamy. Great beer!

Wow intense nose! Very aggressive and boozey. Light body in the world of barley wines.

Huge oaky boozy aroma, some vanilla, raisins, bourbon. No head. No carbonation but it does not matter that much. The oak is dominant but this beer is big! I find some yeasty hints also. Warm finish. Nice winter sipper.

Location/Date:Bottle split with Dave on November 30th, 2013.
Appearance: Pours a dark black.
Aroma: Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate.
Taste: Chocolate, light bourbon, vanilla.
Summary: This is definitely different than many barleywines Iíve had. More on the chocolate, hint of bourbon but not overpowering on the booze. Really nice.

Nice sweet whiskey aroma, which I assume is the bourbon. Caramel notes as well. Pretty burgundy color that was smooth and syrupy. No head to speak of. Carbonation was mild. Any more would not have worked. Very oily and viscous texture. The OG much have been pretty high. Sweet malt flavors with vanilla and toffee. A strong flavor of whiskey with alcohol notes. Definitely a sipping beer and great example of this breweryís prowess.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Intense caramel maltiness, sweet bourbon, raisins, noticeable vanilla, dried dark fruits, intense aroma of wood, decent hops. Complex aroma bomb. Smooth and nicely warming finish. Bit sticky. Not too pushy sweetness.
Another huge brew by Lost Abbey. Price/performance makes this "must have at least once"

2008 bottle shared at Leviís house. Uncarbonated. Rich leathery tobacco bourbon chocolate tones. Caramel bourbon juice. Sweet, lovely beverage. Delicious, but the lack of carbonation hurts the overall.

On tap at Urge during their Black Sabbath SDBW event. Pours a dark brown-black with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruits, moderately roasted malts, burnt caramel, molasses, oak, bourbon, raisins, candied fruits, and some vanilla. Taste is very similar to the aroma with some amazing oak notes, dark caramel, candied fruits, vanilla, molasses, and some rum like notes. Has a full body with a super creamy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter, long finish. Overall, a truly amazing beer that incredibly has almost no noticeable booze and is defiantly the best Barley Wine I have tasted to date.
