Bottle, 75 cl corked, at Patricks. A big, dense, beige head forms over a mostly clear reddish dark brown body. The aroma has sage, lots of dark dried fruits and a pleasant sugary touch. Some caramel too, and the alcohol is also present. Maybe a hint of acetone. The flavor goes in the same direction, very smooth and balanced, the alcohol level far from pushing. Pleasant carbonation, full body. Lasting finish. A really, really lovely one. 120121

On tap at Cloverleaf. Pours a dark black color with an off white foam head. Aroma of caramel, roast, with dark fruit underneath. Some Belgian spice mixed in. Sweet licorice dark fruit taste with a caramel maltiness. Nice bitter layer for balance. Slight roast. Has that dubbel, Belgian spice taste on the backend. Damn good.

Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement vineuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Présence de miel en arrière goût. (Rating #4087)

Pours deep brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruit, pruns, raisin, alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long slightly roasted, fruity, alcohol finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Lovely bottle with the 10 commandments on the back if you just have forgotten them. Violent flavor of anise that is there right from start to finish, a little sorry for a beer at that price.
