Pours syrupy, dark brown-amber with a thick light-tan head. Aroma is floral, spicy, fruity, hoppy, pine. Taste is floral, spicy, fruity, some toffee, caramel, alcohol, finish is bitter citrus hops with a little black coffee. Mouth feel is thick, full, syrupy. Nice lacing. I found this quite enjoyable and very drinkable, especially considering the strength.

Pours a darker golden out of the tap. Aroma is heavy malt but the hops surprises at first taste. Caramel and vanilla flavor give way to a bitter aftertaste. This coming from someone new to barleywine.

Snifter.2010 bottle so its been almost a year.It pours a dark amber color with small head.Great smell, prunes, caramel. It taste mostly malt, dark fuits, banana. Note: I try this when it was fresh eleven months ago it was very light but after 11 in my cold basement Good Lord this one got better.

Bomber. Gnarly indeed. Too much toffee and alcohol for my taste buds. I enjoy a high ABV beer but this is too much for my liking.

Tap at the repub. Pour is a fairly dark copper, with a ring of head that leaves surprisingly nice lacing. Aroma is very malt forward, lots of caramel, light vanilla, lots of dark fruit (raisins and the like). Taste is MUCH more hoppy than the aroma lets on...starts with the same malt profile, but builds to a very nice pine bitterness that lasts, and lasts, backed by some nice cherry wood notes as well. Slightly sweet, though fairly bitter, finish. Overall, a nice beer, I just wish the aroma pulled through a bit more.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2012 A - pours deep red with little tan foam. S - Interesting aromas of barley, grains, and malts that is reminiscent of dogfood. Also notes of raisin bran and brown sugar. M - heavy on the tongue med behind. Bitter. T - Grains and malts on the nose. Sweeter dried dark fruits esp. raisins. sweet brown sugar. O - Overall a good barley wine. The strong grain/dogfood aroma distracts from the brew. 5+/6-

Amberish pour with light tan head and sticky lace. Aroma is raisins, light abv, and sweet malt. Flavor is sweet maltiness, dried fruit, abv, and a nice bitter finish. Medium full bodied with good carbonation. A beer that waited over a year in my frige and it is dogone good. I would like to try a fresh bottle just to see what it is like. Very nice offering.

650ml bottle listed as 10.6%ABV pours amber in color with a finger of white head which settles to a few spots of lacing. Aroma is caramel with some hops. Taste is caramel sweetness with some spiciness and enough hoppy bitterness to balance things out. This is a little hoppier than most barley wines I have tried and that is a good thing. A well done barley wine that I would recommend to the barley wine lovers out there.
