4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle No 79844 Tenth Anniversary
Bottle nose showed some spikiness, roastiness, a touch of slight white pepper. Very very easy head, magnolia to beige. A copper oranginess with typical sparkles.
Body is medium to full, some sap, some glossiness. On the tongue there is banana, dried fruit and an almost whiskiness to it. Dried glace fruits, some brown sugar. So complex with a long dry end.
As good as any beer youíll ever have had from any brewer, anytime, anywhere. Maybe better. Just spectacular.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted 2014. Golden/amber color. Aroma is a lot of ripe fruits ready to be plucked from the tree. Sweet taste with dark fruits, plums, apricote and some yeast. Low carbonation probably due to the age. Smooth finish with just a hint of alcohol.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small tasting glass @ brewery tasting room. Vineous character, tastes like sherry. Very smooth. Spices and hops are gone after 9 years. Left are fruit like aromas. Great stuff.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a cloudy amber colour with no lacing or head. Aroma raisin, butterscotch. Tastes just like it smells l, raisins, butterscotch, alcohol(sherry), and a bit of sweet orange. I donít normally comment on palate....but this one leaves a "buttery" film in the mouth; nice. A very good beer!

500ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Hazy amber color. Tiny to almost no head. Sweet, raisins, plums and prunes in aroma. Nice sparky aroma. Caramel, raisins, plums, sweet in taste. Raisins and caramel in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Faint hops. Feels just a tiny bit old. Nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy orange beer, almost no head. Nose is vanilla, plummy notes, caramel, soft malt notes, lots of sweetness. Flavor is pretty sugary, fruity, plummy. Finish is oxidized, but smooth, pretty caramelly, malt, a memory of hop bitterness. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
All bottles are numbered, and my bottle is no. 18069. The foam is fairly stable and the smell is full of fruit and malt. The fruit is heavy and most reminiscent of plum and berries. It tastes sweet of the fruit, and it has a richness that is bold and only slightly affected by alcohol. The sweet taste is kept nice in place of the slightly fruity aftertaste which together with a little alcohol provides a warm and slightly vinous character.

DATE TASTED: January 11, 2015... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... OCCASION: Golden Globes and an ice delay--good combo... APPEARANCE: dark brown opaque body that holds a decent off-white head; lacing dissipates quickly; heads ends in a swirl... AROMA: musty, winy, grapelike funk that yawn with cinnamon, currants, malts and some vodka fumes (?!)... PALATE: impressively mellow, unsurprisingly warming and full-bodied; promises to be a night in a bottle ...TASTE: dry with raisins and grapes, currants and some subtle flowery hops; malts push an equally persuasive base--formidable... OVERALL: a complex, thick, demanding beer that cellared well--eight years in the maintaining!--that is perfect for a night of awards and bad weather...
