4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Thure (148) - - AUG 27, 2010
This is by far the best interpretation of the classic English IPA I’ve had. The aroma is floral with hints of earthy notes and just pleasant happy. Flavor adds the aroma with a nice medium

cask at Charlie’s in Copenhagen. hazed gold body with a fine bubbled white head. dry and musty lightly pungent noble-like hop nose. grassy dried leaves and a rustic but light cheese and citrus flavor is superbly clean. mild oiliness and pillowy natural carbonation work really well with the flavor profile. has a lovely tenderness and softness throughout. a touch of raw cereal grains and semi-sweet citrus surround it. quite good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ALLOVATE (1711) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - MAR 30, 2012
Cask, handpump @ The Holly Tree Inn, Exmouth, Devon. Produces up a sunny orange amber, sparkling, with a thin, creamy white pad atop. Pleasant, bright, fruity hop nose; pear drops, apricot, grapefruit, pineapple and honeydew comes to mind, a real fruit salad mix atop just a hint of pine needles. Lots of fruit esters on the palate; doughy, rounded and supple mouthfeel with a little residual spritz to give it height. The fruits of the nose meld with sundrenched grains and a hint of camphor in back. Becomes vinous in the swallow like a sweet Chenin Blanc before dropping off moderately bitter. Nice mix of flavour and it’s balanced to a ’T’. Do not know why it is listed as an APA, but hey don’t fight the system. Very nice. A solid session ale.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Leighton (4097) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2012
Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, sturdy foam head. Looks great. Zesty lemon, straw and fine dough in the nose. Nearly perfect flavor, light to medium sweet with sun-kissed straw bitterness, light dough, mild citrus. Wonderful balance. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Superb condition. Sweet finish with mild dryness, light lemon zest and rind, faint grass, straw, modest dough. Here, now, this beer is near perfect stuff.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 2, 2012
First tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in November 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a creamy white head. Citrusy hops are evident in the short pleasant aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a juicy citric note of pink grapefruit and thick cut marmalade. Citrusy hops compliment the malt well with a dry bitter aftertaste. Finish is slightly bitter but not too astringent with pithy grapefruit peel detected in the palate. A decent session APA.
