COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours bright red with a lasting pink head. Smells and tatstes like smooth cherry cola and fruit punch with a slightly tart finish for balance. Moderate carbonation with a clean palate and a lingering sour/sweet finish. Should have bought more.

Powerful cherry aroma. Pours dark red with a pink off white head, nice lacing. Taste is very pronounced sweet cherry with a tart/sour element. Excellent lively palate. A great fruit beer.

Pours a dark red color with a finger head that disapates quickly. Aroma is pungent cherries, slight medicinal notes, slight oak Taste follows the nose, lots of cherries a bit of a medicinal taste but not off putting. Crisp, tart and refreshing. Different in the best possible way, tasting back to back with the raspberry tart and I must say I prefer the tart.

On tap at Sour and Bitter: Brownish red with a small off-white head. Aroma of fresh cherries and crushed cherry nuts. Tart cherry flavor with an almond essence like finish.

Keg at Sour & Bitter 2012. It pours hazy deep red, with a thin off-white head. The nose is sweet cherry, artificial notes, cherry tunes (the sweet), marzipan and almond. The taste is sweet cherry, residual syrupy sweetness, hint of tangy lime, cherry tunes and gummy bears, with a dry finish. Medium body, average carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. I was hoping for a bit more tartness. Far too sweet. Tastes a lot like a commercial Belgian kriek.

On tap! Pours mahogany ruby red with no head. Aroma is candy like cherry, wild honey, gummi bears, vanilla, a weak tartness and some wilder notes way behind. A bit one sided, but pretty good. Taste is candy sweetness, red gummi bears, woody dryness, vanilla, concentrated cherry juice, light tartness and some spice.

Utterly delicious and perfect example of its style. Perfect blending of the cherry with the beer, far superior than the cherry stout by new glarus. Lighter red orange coloring with short head.

Sample @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a small white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet with burnt sugar, cherries, dandelions, brown sugar, lemon zest, orange zest and grass. Taste is sweet and sour with dark grapes, cherries, raspberries, burnt sugar, hay, dandelion and hints of brett. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and sour with cherries, dark grapes, bread and burnt sugar. Smells and tastes like Dr Pepper. Luckily I’m rather fond of that drink...
