4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Tap @ SBWF 2012. I don’t know where to start. This beer makes me feel like I’m in Valhalla. Absolutely deep thick black color. Big (ice)creamy brown head sits perfectly on top. Even when I take last sip head is there, alone but proud. Chocolate, plums, coffee, dark fruits, roasted malts in aroma. Rich, very well balanced juicy flavors. Coffee, plums, dark fruits, raisins, mild licorice, nice roast in flavor. I would drink it for a breakfast, lunch and dinner. What a wonderful beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
First thoughts are super smooth with a roasty aftertaste. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. The malted base is really smooth with a mld but complex spice palate. Quality.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Erg aangenaam bier.

Oh Boy. The infamous Black Albert delivers once again. This pitchblack, creamy beer with a small lightbrown head, may well be one of the best Stouts out there. The taste is sweet, but not sugarsweet, more like caramel/toffee-sweet. The aroma is deep and complex like the deepest levels of the black sea: plums, raisins, coffee and dark chocolate. A longlasting and bitter, roasty aftertaste is the bonus that comes with this dark horse. Marvelous!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - 330ml. Pours an opaque black body with low carbonation and a fair brown foamy/creamy head. Rich malty/hoppy aroma with licorice, cocoa, and yeasty hints. Alcohol is not agressive at all. Its complex, robust taste carries roasty, cocoa, and wild berries notes. Texture is soft, oily. Ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Wow!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle from Les Crepes de Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours like thick motor oil with a beautiful tanned head. Dark, sumptuous and alluring with raisins, chewy toffee and maybe even a faint hint of bitter dark chocolate. Coats the back of the palette in a potent, viciously delicious paint-like liquid that sends the tastebuds into a frenzy. Incredible.
